Steven Nelson on the trade block, wtf?

Holy crap, that would be an upgrade.... if the contract numbers work out.

Seems like Fuller's getting cut, if he hasn't been already... so a trade seems unlikely. As a FA, I imagine he'd be well out of our price range. Some other vet CB's still out there:

Kyle Fuller
Richard Sherman
Casey Hayward
Adoree Jackson
Malcolm Butler
Xavier Rhodes
Desmond Trufant
AJ Bouye
Brian Poole
DJ Hayden
Buster Skrine
Quinton Dunbar
Kevin King
Artie Burns*
Darqueze Dennard
Also: JC Jackson (RFA - 2nd round)

* um, no.

From what I understand, Kyle Fuller was going to be cut but it hasn't been completed yet so he's still Bears property. I don't know the salary ramifications for Nelson and Fuller but if they both count a substantial amount against the cap after dead cap, it doesn't make any sense. Unless the Bears and Steelers got together and decided to send out some BS about a potential trade hoping a team(s) that is waiting to sign one of these guys after their release takes the bait and offers something even if it's a day three pick.

Some very good names there, wonder if adoree jackson would be affordable, I wanted the kid to be drafted by the Steelers but went very early and there was TJ Watt waiting for us too so...

Would be great to be able to have both now

cut Nelson, then re-sign him for vet min and offer an 8th round pick in the 2016 draft to the Bungles for Hilton.

#ProblemSolved

Rats... there goes that pipe dream.

If you don't want to be a Steeler BYE BYE

He went back to his prior DC. Fangio used him well when he was in CHI.

Someone's reading our ideas and putting them in an article

Some might be surprised some of the ideas that come off this board. We talk in-depth more than most. I have seen far too many times articles come right after we discussed a subject. If I was a betting man I would double down.

btw, having moved on from pipe dream #1 Kyle Fuller, it is time to move onto pipe dream #2, Adoree Jackson. He just ticks off so many boxes, is versatile, great speed, super young for a FA at 25... man, he would be a blue-chip signing if Colbert could swing it somehow. Plus there's the USC connection with JuJu & Zach, who hopefully are doing some PR work behind the scenes. A signing like that would make this secondary better in a hurry.... and not just for a season or two.

They need to move Nelson quickly. get whatever or cut. No need to prolong the decision making process as they will need to bring in a corner. You want to do that sooner than later.

Can we now agree that spending money to keep Ben made no sense, at all?

Why? To go 7-9 instead of 4-12?

Go 4-12, get out of cap hell in 2022, get a great draft spot, and return to dominance in 2022.
Clearly you’re not aware of what is happening with the salary cap this year

Jackson ticks the boxes but he is not a great staying man to man kind of like the bad things that haunted chad Scott after he returned from a torn acl

I rather get butler or Sherman and add ap for a vet all eggs in 1 basket for this year

Yeah, just like Fuller, Adoree too was just a pipe dream.....

Too bad, still some solid names left though not as young

I would bring Butler in and ink him to stop the bleeding. As those options you can see are closing quickly.

I was going to say that Jackson is still young but he's only two years younger than Nelson and Jackson has been much patchier though with a higher ceiling. Interesting to see what happens.
