The Pittsburgh Steelers have been able to maneuver themselves to be under the projected 2021 NFL salary cap, but that doesn’t mean they can stop there.
They’re set to lose a ton of players to free agency, and they’re going to need as much money as possible. That’s why we expect a few more contract restructures to take place.
One of those happens yesterday with Derek Watt restructuring his deal to save 880,000. It doesn’t seem like much, but every penny counts.
Defensive lineman Stephon Tuitt, and corners Joe Haden and Steven Nelson could also be receiving extensions or restructures. Those could all come in the next ten days.

More restructuring to create salary cap space:
— #Saints S Malcolm Jenkins: $3.4M of extra room
— #Saints OL Andrus Peat: $6M
— #Eagles OL Isaac Seumalo: $2.408M
— #Steelers FB Derek Watt: $880K
