Super Bowl LV

The penalties really did have a huge impact on the game. TB was the better team yesterday and likely would have won anyway but this would have been a tight game if pass interference and holding was called equally. The chiefs did get stops and then the drives continued due to penalties. Not a single one of those calls were blatant, meaning they were all close judgement calls.

I thought all but 1 of them were bad calls. What bothers me about that is that we are to believe that the TB defense locked down all those Chiefs WRs all game and didn’t grab once. Bullshit.

These calls had a huge impact not only by extending drives but the Chiefs defense played less aggressively the rest of the game so guys got more open.

Yep, I tweeted Uhler and Moats at SNR radio Friday that exact thing, that the penalties would be heavily skewed toward Brady, as usual. The youngest biggest star in the game doesn't even get an obvious flag on a forearm to the head.

The off-sides was a bad call and the one in the endzone where it looked uncatchable.

The Chiefs should got a few more calls that were missed or not called. It may have been a little closer, but TB were the better team yesterday. They made PM run for life and pounded him. Kelce was a non-factor and for the most part, so was Hill.

congrats to the Buccaneers, champs once again.

I said to my husband after the Green Bay game that is struck me how fast the TB defense is. Mahomes hasn't played many defenses he wasn't able to run around and elude. Yeah running backwards 20 yards isn't a good way to handle it.

Doesn't make him a bad quarterback, it's just an adjustment he's going to have to learn to make. He's young, he'll get there.

Pretty much the grade our Oline graded out all season. Seeing the most explosive player and offense in the NFL reduced to nothing because the Oline couldn't pass protect, doesn't make me feel quite as bad about our 38 year old QB and offense, if we can do something about our OL. LOL

I tweeted into SNR radio Friday that the penalties would be heavily skewed towards TB, that's a given.

While of course you are correct about our line,I could not share your optimism about feeling quite as bad about our 38 year old QB and offence. In fact I felt way , way worse after this game. An o line that needs to be fixed will not happen overnight. Having an old QB that looks like a statue with basically no mobility gives me great cause for concern. Ben would have been sacked 10 times last night. Of course his 1.5 second , 2 yard passes might have saved him.

Pass block: B+/A-. Run block F. Whch averages to like a C-, but the Run block was so ****** bad it made passing difficult because of predictability. do yeah. D/D- overall.

There was a little sarcasm in my post, because yeah the Oline is bad. I just find it funny how on the national level, that a bad Oline can make the best QB look below average, and that's all I'm seeing and hearing about KC.

It's not ideal, but there's a chance the Oline can rebound. 1-OC/OL coaches can scheme the run game. 2. we hit on our first OL pick in the draft. 3. DeCastro is healthy. 4. If Banner comes back, remember he totally transformed his body to become alot more in shape and athletic, hope it translates to the field.

It's unfortunate that this is topic today. Minutes after the SB was over, Marcus Spears and Ryan Clark both have to bring up how diversity won last night and Arians is a trailblazer.
Literally, not giving any credit to the staff for actually coaching and winning. No credit to Todd Bowles and his defense, nothing.
Aren't we told not to see race? But then these two clowns and other idiots on ESPN want to bring up nothing but race. It's just getting out of hand IMO.

Don't watch the racists.

There is only one way to beat Brady and that is man and pressure. There simply is no other way. And when KC was punting and kicking field goals in the first quarter and a half. I kinda knew they were cooked. Started believing their own press too. Thought they would get the ball back and score when Tampa looked content to go into half. Gave up 7. Sound familiar to anyone?

The media has a tendency to read way too much into one game.

That said, Kansas City's patched up offensive line is what lost them the game. They were horrific. And it got worse once KC became one-dimensional down 21-6.

There were a number of plays/situations that could have made the game a lot closer on the score board (but likely would not have changed the outcome):

1. Some questionable secondary calls on KC
2. Andy Reid's decision to call time out a the end of the first half when TB had 3rd and 2 in their own territory (and was apparently letting the clock run down). Going into the locker room 21-6 rather than 14-6 was a big difference IMO.
3. Any of the 4-5 drives KC had down inside the 30 that ended in FG's or turnover by downs instead of TD's.

The game felt like to me more 27-17 than 31-9. Not to say that's still not laying an egg for the favorites.

And there were some moments Brady did some really good things. TB converted when they had their chances in the red zones. I don't think enough was said about how impressive that first drive TB had in the 2nd half (after waiting the traditional 30 minutes over the long half time AND KC putting together a FG drive to start the 2nd half). If it wasn't over at the end of the first half 21-6, then that TD to make is 28-9 sure seemed like the dagger to me. And that was just a really well-executed, exceptional drive. There were no penalties to help on that one either.

At 28-9, TB went into prevent and KC had no big plays to take advantage.

And yes, this run in the playoffs by TB's defense was very impressive. Devin White is a stud. He played at Patrick Willis & Luke Kuechly levels in this game. Probably graded out at a 95-96.

14 of TB's starters were home grown, drafted talent. And they built a pretty good team with cast offs and quality free agent signings (i.e. Tom Brady). They played well and were mostly healthy when it mattered most.

They deserved to win.

Why? I'm not trying to be a smartass, I don't follow that stuff, so what is the problem with him?

Most of this is old stuff but I'm sure it's affecting his chances of getting hired.

Assault in a bar fight as a youngster, suspended license, leaving scene of accident, DUI, assaulted a fire fighter trying to put a fire out at his mom's house, assaulted a female parking attendent and allegedly threatened her "with a bunch of black men all at once," was in the middle of a recruiting scandle were it was allegedly claimed they were recruiting players with alcohol and sex, one woman claimed to have been raped. Actually several players were under investigation for rape, I have no idea how that turned out.

Again, this is 20 years ago. Problem is if you hire him and he slips up, allot of people will be pointing fingers.

Yes it does but I saw a little different aspect. Ending of the 1/2 I knew they tampontommy was going to score because the power above (godell) said tampon will win this game and gave instruction for that. When they were down to 10 seconds left on the clock and Tommy boy threw the incomplete pass and ......you guessed it..........NO TIME RAN OFF THE CLOCK thus giving them two more plays instead of one. Granted they only needed the one but the clock has always been in cheater's favor and this occasion didn't disappoint.

I know in the grand scheme of things it didn't matter but then it's the little things that add up. Why deflate footballs if it didn't matter.... You get my drift.

Where else was he going to go except to backpedal and try to buy time ? The OLine was a sieve and the jailbreak rush gave him no time to throw. The onl a to beat a Cover 2 defense is to punish them by running the ball. Their RB ran only 9 times for 64 yards but NO carries in the 2nd half.

Had to re-watch the final two minutes. TB had first and goal at the nine with 10 secs. left. Then the PI. and then it was 1st and goal from the 1 with 10 sec left. Why doesn't the KC caching coach go crazy! It really didn't matter but at the time you would think different.

That has happened so often when he was in NE too.

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...mahomes-ran-nearly-500-yards-before-throwing/

Imagine if we would have just stayed in the pocket and got decapitated b the Bucs rush.

That's mostly on Mahomes, he runs backwards about 20 yards on plays he doesn't even have to. He's done that all year long.
Their line was obviously bad but so was Mahomes, dude has flaws and they showed.
Ben does not get an easy out with our terrible OL play of the past and current, neither should any other QB.

Pass blocking was fine if Ben get rid of the ball in 2.5 seconds or less, any longer he was being hit alot. The pass blocking was pretty bad, a big reason why we couldn't go downfield more often, didn't have time.

I did not see that. but was that 10 seconds left on the score clock or the production CBS clock? I was screaming conspiracy with some of the calls in the first half. no question. but I don't see anyway KC wins that game. Literally none. They just couldn't block.

impossible, the offensive coordinator savant, bienemy would have schemed to make up for their loss of starters.

Whoa whoa whoa.. that was Andy Reid's offense out there. When the Chiefs are back to putting up 30+pts a game, we'll know Bienemy is at helm again.
