Actually no. Stephon Gilmore had great season, led league in INTs (6) and passes defensed (20), in addition to having 2 pick-6s.
Gilmore didn’t surrender a single TD and QB rating against was 44.1
Nelson did not play close to that level, although Joe Haden had great season with 5 INTs and 17 passes defensed (Pro Bowl season)
For comparison—Haden was beaten for 5 TDs in 2019 & QB rating against was 66.1
TJ Watt arguably had better season in 2019, forcing 10 turnovers (2 INT & 8 fumbles) with 14.5 sacks & 14 TFL. He was 3rd in DPOY voting... which really was criminal. I get being 2nd to Gilmore, but not Chandler Jones.
Sadly, if Watt picks up the fumble vs. Washington and scores, it’s a splash play or what many call “signature play” and influences the voters, though Watt shouldn’t need a splash play to overshine his consistent dominance
