Tomlin is a moron. How in the world can he be the head coach? When to call times outs and when not to remain a weakness the Steelers MUST overcome.

@ [FONT=Arial, Tahoma, Calibri, Geneva, sans-serif] G.Stryker, you could probably do this once a game, Our clock management has always been poor. Kudos. I've been saying this for years.

Cope has posted several times that the clock management is not as bad as you claim. In this situation, I think everyone agrees the TO should have been called.

Clock management is clearly an issue. If you want to single out a game ( With the timeouts left and the time on the clock ) go for it. Bad clock management has been a Tomlin hallmark for years. Ben saves his a@@ for the most part.

The red flag usage for Johnson underscores he lacks the acumen when to throw it. Tomlin would have won the one. And picking the OC, well I guess you aren't a Haley or Fichtner fan.

Glad Cope has your permission to single out a game. We can all rest easier now.

He does fine work on his own. Maybe a little too high on Johnson, but aside from that he can rip Tomlin a new one monthly.

He doesn't need my permission at all. You contributors can high five each other all day long, I'm part of the glue that bonds you.

I heard they are recalling that glue as it is defective.

Hey, let's not sidetrack the thread.

Cope, appreciate you analysis, particularly with game film to demonstrate.

Not at all, our clock management is generally good. Is it perfect? No. But this instance was bad.

He did offer an explanation when asked about it in the presser today. Tomlin stated, they just gashed us for 80 yards on the previous play where we executed poorly on a screen. It was called back because of a penalty, and did not want that to happen again in that moment.

Personally the explanation has some merit, but situationally on 3rd and long with your opponent pinned with their back to their EZ, you call that TO 10 out of 10 times. They are punting and you are getting the ball on the 30-40 with over 1:20 2 TOs and a chance to score already down by 2 scores, to end the half.

Don't live in your fears...

Nice to see a WR lay out to catch a TD! Who was that again? ;)

And I am harder on Tomlin for the challenges he doesn't use. 3 games in a row. 2 would have given us possessions, last game would have ran the clock down to 2min at EOG.

I enjoyed the highlight of Diontae's TD catch. I would personally love to see a few "easy" plays now and then like Claypool's catch and run TD from earlier in the season. Where the hell are all those?

Presser today to paraphrase Tomlin they wanted to get out of the half not giving more points. They got gouged on a screen brought back on a hold. He felt they were in shell shock. Im not saying I agree but that was what he said.

just because you disagree with his decisions, doesn't mean he is wrong. Tomlin may not be the greatest coach in the world but he is light years ahead of you.

If Tomlin had thrown the flag and the play was upheld, you would be on here crying about how he just wastes his timeouts on idiotic challenges. It took a few replays to see that his elbow was likely down in bounds, Tomlin can not see that, he needs word from his eye in the sky about whether or not to throw the flag.

I don't like his explanation about having just been gouged for a big play, you either live in your fears or you don't. I would of had to give my defense the benefit of the doubt and give them the chance to make a play on 3rd and 16

Another yard added to the rope......Keep it going OutCoached.

Timlin explains no timeout at end of 1st half vs. Colts

"I was taken aback by the screen that we gave up just prior to that,” Tomlin told reporters Tuesday. “And I was more concerned about getting that unit off the field without giving up any more splash plays. It’s really unsettling when you give up a field-flipping play such as that. Thankfully that play was called back due to a block in the back, but we were fortunate there. Our execution was poor and it really kind of changed my whole mentality about how the end of that half was unfolding.”

He doesn't think his defense can stop 3rd and 18!!? That's championship football right there...he's so lucky he won by a possession instead of losing by one...unbelievablably bad

He was afraid , He didn't make the decision because of what his team COULD do, it was what the team might NOT do. Living in his fears.

Wow. Just wow. I was waiting for an explanation, but sure as **** didn't expect that bullshit.

Tomlin does very little in game.. if he can't get clock management and challenges right, we got a huge problem.

I neither hate nor love Tomlin... he isnt a bad coach in context, and he is a virtual lock for the Hall of fame...
if how we are utilizing the dlinemen in this defense catches on it will show his value on that side of the ball....

Having said that, nfl coaches aren’t strategists and should yield that aspect to a strategic coordinator... that kind of guy would be more valuable than most Redundant assistant position coaches....
