I'm giving up on Mason.

I have no issue with Rudolph not throwing on 3rd and 17, but when he came in the week before he looked horrible. The arm strength is simply not there and that is not something that will magically appear. I think we would be better off taking a project QB with at least a big arm if one of their top guys is not left. I would not even want Mason as a backup going forward.

As mentioned, telling him to throw a long pass on a day with 50 mph wind gusts isn't going to help his confidence. I live in western PA and we lost the internet at our house for the better part of a day from the wind and had to watch the game on Mrs. Burgundy's cell phone.

I would like to take a moment to clarify my overboard rant.

I actually really want the best for all our players. I actually have a deeply invested NEED for Mason Rudolph to do well. I know, it's a bit weird but I truly WANT him to be great. Truthfully, I was hoping he'd come out, make a couple really good throws and give us all something to be really pleased about with his performance. Of course, the situation didn't call for that. Clearly, what they did (run the ball) was the best possible choice.

I apologize for going all Spike and turnin' on the ones I love. Mason, I still want you to be extraordinary and the truth is, I will probably never give up on you.

Hell, everytime the ball goes toward Johnson, I hope he'll do a couple of those jukes and take it all the way. Not just because I want the score, or even the splash play, but because I want him to be amazing. Just like Washington, Just like JuJu, just like Claypool.

So, sorry everyone. When I do that (most often during game threads) just remind me to have another beer.

What concerns me about Rudolph is why he isn't the one sitting next to Ben on the sidelines going over stuff on the ipads. Dobbs is with Ben almost the entire time, Rudolph is nowhere to be found. Very strange.

DJ is the only one of the WRs who is likely to make the moves we have seen from him. The others may be more likely to catch the ball, but once the catch is made DJ is the most dangerous


maybe we can package Rudolph, Dobb and duck and trade them to Cleveland for Keenum
