No one and I mean NO ONE is giving us a 1st, 2nd, & 3rd round pick for an ILB coming off of a surgically repaired ACL. Stop the fantasy already!
You would't take a 1st, 2nd and 3rd for Bush? That's you. Most here would take that. The 100% reply is really dumb, even by your standards.
Like I said Bush is probably 6th best on the defense, behind Watt, Dupree, Hayward, Tuitt, Haden, and Fitz. He is not good in pass coverage either.
You failed to mention the RFA, which is why I bought it up You come back with a copy and paste job. Lol. Can you answer this, is Vince Williams worth 7 million next year? My reply is heck no, we have negative cap space the way it is, and better free agents of our own to re-sign. Your reply is?
How many tackles does Williams have on special teams? IMO he's miscast on kick coverage, just lacks the speed. Where was Williams 20 snaps on special teams? Kick team coverage our as a blocker? It might interest you to learn that Williams has been in just 12% of the snaps this season on special teams. Last year that number was 8%. My point is Williams doesn't do much of anything on special teams has been proven. Finished dufusplaining yet? I'll give you a B for effort and a C- ( I'm in a good mood today ) for your reply.

I guess I am in the minority, but, even though Spillane was in the middle of a few "splash plays", there were still almost 300 yards rushing given up. That is unacceptable and if there is somebody else that can help address that issue, I am all for it.
Regarding Bush, we dont give up that amount of rushing yards if Bush is playing. Spillane is playing well, but not even close to the Bush standard. I am not a coach nor do I play one on a message board, but even I can see the effectiveness of our defense with and without Bush.
It's more Alualu not being on the field.

I dont know for sure about this website but the author of this column states that Spillaine had the first Steeler pick 6 of the Ravens since Woodson in 1996. Wtf? Who could forget Troy's pick 6 at the 2008 AFC Championship game? Watching that play can still choke me up to this day and has to be one of my favorite Steeler memories ever!

Dulac indicated it was a depth move. Kaboly expects Williamson to start.
I believe Williamson is pretty good against the run, terrible against the pass.
He shined like diamonds on a defense that just gave up 457 yards.

no, he doesnt. He is just looking at cap numbers and trying to look like TMC. Thats the whole reason for this thread. Not about spillane, but that vince will likely be a cap casualty and spillane could take his spot.
to I am saying he's good, and likely the starter next year over Williams.
Might that that have something to do with the Steelers playing the Titans and Henry and the Ravens and D.K. Dobbins and Lamar Jackson, combined with Alualu going down at DT/NT? I would say yes. The Titans and the Ravens are tough to beat, run-oriented playoff teams. Bush played the easy games before getting hurt.
I do not think Bush stones Henry in the hole, and his tackles per game was on the low side. As pointed out, he allowed a much higher percentage of passes completed in coverage too.
Bush had a very fast start as a rookie, and has cooled since.
Some numbers to ponder:
Drilling down in his last three games vs Houston, Philly and Cleveland, Bush had 2, 1, and 2 solo tackles. His missed tackles % is a little higher than I'd like at 13.3%.
Where does Spillane rate on missed tackles? Just 4.5%, which is impressive. In one game he had 10 solo tackles.
Spillane tackles well.
Bush has less splash plays too. 0 tackles for losses in 5 games played. 0 Int's, 3 PD's, 0 Fumble recoveries 1 sack.
Spliane already has 2 tackles for losses 1 Int, 2 PD's 1 Fumble Recovery and 0 sacks in far less snaps played.
Those are the numbers. I'm not calling Splliane better, that will take a larger sample of games. I am saying he's good, and likely the starter next year over Williams.
