Cowher NEVER had the $$$ to play with that Tomlin does (and lost co-ordinators and players every year).

What does Tomlin do with the $$$? We have the highest paid non-starting CB in the league, the highest paid "average" RT in the league (league average for RT is >2mil/yr) to go along with paying worse than average guys like Colon 29mil, Kemoeatu 20mil and the list goes on.

Anybody who watched the Jets play defense knew they were stout against the run and tough to throw against in the short zone. What was our game plan? Lets run the ball and throw to the short zones?

Ben is accountable for the one pick over the middle. The pass to Bryant (who is NOT a very good route runner to start with) should have been a fade. It would have been an easy TD. We should have used our TE more to open up the middle and gouged them with slants behind the LBs who were often run-blitzing or playing close to the line.

The pre-scripted plays need to go. They are not working. The punter should give way on holding kicks. We now have 2 muffed snaps and a bad placement to add to his resume. I still would like to see a Kick-off only K signed as we do not need some of the personnel we have on STs as they obviously aren't good enough. Why run a big back wide on a hand-off at the goal-line? Blount is an upfield only runner. Might as well give the ball to Deebo and let him run over someone (at least he would try).

The reason Cowher and Hines called our offense 'finesse' is because we cannot line up and point to where we are going to run it and get the yards like we used to. We cannot beat man to man matches on the offensive line. We have to finesse the defender and hope the RB picks the open lane. I would definitely get Foster out of there as well. He just doesn't make up for his mistakes and doesn't play to the whistle once he misses. Wallace at least has tenacity.

I never used to stress easy games but NOW they are the ones I worry about the most. We HAVE to play aggressive early to get rolling. We know from watching Vick that 'middle blitzes are the only thing that works against him. He is too shifty once he gets to the edges. We played right into his hand sending extra blitzers around the edge. I sometimes wonder if this team watches tape of the opponent before the game...this one was hard to watch.

Not having an option to throw limited his ability to play from behind until O'dummell became QB. It is a 'live by the sword, die by the sword' kind of game-plan but sometimes necessary nonetheless.

Cowher's offense was built around the Bus and a small amount of passing for most years because that was the strength of the offense. If the defense is giving you something you can not do what difference does it make, sometimes they give you what you can't do because there is no need to defend it.

These are professional football players. Quit treating them like high schoolers that need somebody to scream at them to get them motivated. Man the **** up and get yourself ready to play. Game planning is the coaches responsibility the week leading up the game. Walking out between the white lines on Sunday and performing better than the guy lined up across from you in your responsibility. It's a weak minded team. Does Tomlin and the staff share the blame? Yeah, they do but I put a a lot more onus on players getting embarrassed on Sundays. Play like you have some ******* pride! I didn't see a whole lot of getting outsmarted by trickery or wrinkles in the gameplan by the Jets today. I saw guys getting beat out there, missing tons of tackles and making horrible decisions with the football. My biggest beef with the coaching today was not attacking the weak DB's of the Jets all day long.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Supersteeler again.

Kiesel was not under contract and no dead money.
Heath is the best we have.
Troy is still the best safety we have.
Ike is still our best corner and took a hometown discount to stay.

The salary cap is fukked because of paying too much for Gilbert, and our corner back from the citadell Allen as well as all the dead money from Woodley a product of coach cool shades and no other. There are more issues I'm sure. I said last week this would be a test for MT to see if he has indeed become a good coach and I hoped he would show us what a great job he did. You continually want to say what a great coach this guy is because he went to two superbowls with players that had been here prior to his arrival and had won the game a year before he arrived.

He sure as hell did not get us to the playoffs his first six seasons did he, nope not a chance.

When they signed Woodley to the big contract he was coming off some very productive years, there's no way to know he's going to tank after he gets paid. Allen was a panic signing I agree, Gilbert is going to work out before its all said and done, IMO. The Allen signing is one that kind of ruffles my feathers, but not the others.

I thought Woodley was over paid then. Would not have minded him being resigned but he was also playing opposite Harrison when he was really setting things on fire. My fault with the signing was not keeping him but overpaying to keep him. Just as they have over paid for Worilds who is not playing to what he is being paid although he is doing a bit better this year. They have been continually over paying for players and drafting poor replacements and that is killing us. One or the other is bad enough but both is tremendously poor management.

The problem i had with us handing ALL of our LBers those big contracts was it all happened when the rules started shifting to favor the Offense.......i would of preferred at the time to of brought in quality offensive lineman and let those guys go. It has seemed we have been a little behind the rest of the league in adapting to the new Goodell ball........

Remember that the STEELERS were the only ones who voted against the CBA. With that being said, the big complaint was Godelllll had to much power. The steelers despised godelll / power, thus anti-ing anything godelll. maybe this contributed some to the lack of response to the Godelllll ball.

I agree. He's going to have a good game or two but then he's MIA. A 90 year old Harrison is playing better going against better players on the right side.
