Open Discussion on Kaperdick workout.

Hey t-man do you have any idea how many people you insulted with your freedom of speech that the Americans that fought for your rights that the flag and anthem stand for? The best advice I can give you is go **** yourself or here's an idea maybe you can go get ol Bush head and yall both **** off!!!

I understand your viewpoints - really, I do.

I'd like you to consider this...

When we pray to God, in an act of reverence, 'we kneel'.

When a teammate is seriously injured on the field, 'we kneel' as an act of respect and honor.

So, I ask in earnest concern, 'who deemed it wrong when anyone 'kneels' during the National Anthem?

Let me again state that I do not condone Kap's actions or the platform he and the others took to show their 'peaceful protest'---I just understand why they did it...
 
kneeling at the anthem does nothing but divide people which is supposedly the exact opposite of what they want. These athletes have the means to do a million different things to help people. If they were really serious about social injustice and things they wouldnt be wearing socks depicting cops as pigs or hailing castro.

He absolutely has that right.

On his own time.

When you're representing your employer, they have a right to say how. He also is not guaranteed to be free from criticism or the consequences of what he says while in his own time.

Simply pointing out that freedom of speach applies to government intervention. It has absolutely nothing to do with this situation. Nothing. The first amendment protects you from Government restricting speach, not your employer. Your employer has the absolute right to determine how they are represented when you're on their time. It's how the NFL can fine players for bashing referees or wearing the wrong shoes.
 
Are we still on this kneeling ****? I can understand a person's anger about it, truly. But I think people need to ask themselves why they are really mad about it.

I have a great respect for anyone who has worn the uniform, regardless of the reason. I have that respect because even if you joined to do 4 years and get the college money, there is still a hell of a risk involved, considering we can't seem to stop fighting senseless wars around the globe. I also appreciate and honor those who served and dies before me, because without them, none of us enjoy the things this country provides.

I served 24 years in the US Army. I serve today as DOD Civilian. I returned from deployment to Afghanistan as a civilian in March of this year. In truth, I could give **** all about Kaepernick or anyone else kneeling during the anthem. It is a symbolic gesture that accomplishes nothing. You wanna kneel, kneel. In the grand scheme of things, what does it affect? What does it change? Not a damn thing, really. Me? I'm gonna enjoy the game, make some food, and keep doing what I do every day: try to be the best I can be for my wife, my kids, my community and myself. I owe a lot of people my best. I'll pay that debt before I worry about Colin ******* Kaepernick or anyone else kneeling for the anthem.
 
32 NFL teams. Not 1 of them owned by an angel. This is the league that gave dog killer Michael Vick a 2nd chance.( yeah he paid his debt to society, but **** him) Does anyone really think that if Colin would give any team a better chance to win a single game, they wouldn't take it?

I don't know man. In his last season, he started 11 games and went 1-10. He put up decent numbers. 16 TD, 4 INT, 2241 yds, 59.2 completion %. He wasn't awful, but the team was. Steelers fans would absolutely loves those numbers from MR. Kaepernick is an *******, I guess. I don't think he would hurt a decent team.

Why do some people think that the 49'ers #2 QB who hasn't played in three years would be better than our #2 QB?

I was more going for ******* than ********. Standing for the anthem is a patriotic thing, if someone is protesting the fact that people are getting shot while being unarmed. The majority of people agreeing with you doesnt mean you are right, most times it just means everyone else is just as bow to peer pressure as you are. I support the troops by attempting to elect people who will pay them well and who support programs to help the vets. But hey, some ******** stands for a song so they rock.

Here is the thing... I don’t really care who does what during the anthem... some people do... those people have the right to be pissed if they disagree with what an nfl player does and not watch. That hurts the nfl financially

The nfl, as a private organization, has the right to terminate you based on your actions or viewpoints harming their bottom line... there are a few protected classes, political opinions aren’t one...

Individual clubs have the right to not employ him. Even if he is better than 100% of their players ( he isn’t that good)

He absolutely has the freedom of speech and on unleased public lands he can protest however he likes, and the nfl can still fire him for it... the government cannot arrest him... thats all freedom of speech gets you

If the Steelers brought him in, id be pissed for two reasons
A. I think it stunts the growth and assessment of both Rudolph and duck, and is a long term negative

B. Id have to hear all the people who love him or hate him screaming at each other like morons just like with Vick...

That being said I am not sure he ever gets a chance again... he isn’t good enough to put up with the aggravation of his flavor of the week reason he is protesting

He would look great in tiger stripes. Fit right in.

As for the other option I don't even want to think about it. Would free up a lot of my time on Sundays.......
 
We won't sign him but I hope someone does so the Kap fanboys in the Steelers Facebook groups STFU about it.
 
I don't understand why any team would take a chance on this guy, no matter what you may think of his athletic abilities, he's just plain caustic.

I mean, he's not a guy you love to hate (Bwady, Pete Rose, etc.) because they're good at what they do, he's a guy that's hated because he's a selfish, privileged, pompous jackass.

Anyone think at least one team is going to ask, "Do you plan to continue kneeling during the National Anthem?" If the answer is no, "Will you put that in a contract?"
