it's "bye" week with no opponent what...........

If SD is becoming too much, maybe head south to Rosarito. Haven't been there in over 20 years, but loved the beach. Used to camp right on the beach in Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point), but those days are long gone.
Agree, there's something about the carefree life on the beach. I need to get back to that someday.

Not sure if you're a golfer Zona (or used to be), but I'd go down that way to Bajamar and Real Del Mar and golf next to the ocean for 60 bucks. It's probably a little more expensive nowadays but Pebble Beach can have their $595 fee to play one damn round of golf. And yeah, beautiful down there next to the ocean but Mexico scares me. My co-worker is originally from Puerto Vallarta and he said their 10 acre farm was also a graveyard courtesy of the cartel. No bullshit.

Yeah the weather is probably the mildest in the country. But you're right it's so damn expensive. And San Diego used to be known as that big city that's so spread out that you don't have that big city feel but it is getting flooded with more and more people. And the taxes. And the Governor is insane. I may end up in Idaho before it's all said and done.

My father was in the marines. So I went out there to meet up with some of his former marine buddies. One of them lived in town and was retired from the local newspaper. Even with all his money he hated the expense. He later moved to Oregon a few years before he passed away.

yeah that was weird...only tried to post once and I come back and see the post hit 4 different times...

It's OK Coolie as we like yaz 4 X as much !!!!

With the weather becoming bearable, I can take the roadster out without experiencing heatstroke, just need to find a road without congestion.

You should see if the Chargers will relocate you to LA and pay you to attend games. It looks like they could use some new fan base after watching last weeks Steelers game.

Good lord Paul, you couldn't pay me to live in that shithole they call LA. Sorry to any LA residents on the board, but the traffic, the overpopulation, the high cost of living & taxes, the hot weather which seems to turn people into ******** a lot faster -- they can have that cesspool.

So, you're sayiN it's not as glamorous as TV makes it out to be..............

I'm not a big city guy at all. I love PITTSBURGH but not much others as far as cities go.

My brother-in-law and nephew took a 7 day vacation to Hollywood and surrounding area about a month ago... they had a great time.... but again only for 7 days
I want to visit California some day to see the giant sequoias and redwoods.

Wifey is from Downey. She says she’ll never go back either.
Funny how SoCal’s bag on LA lol.

Not much happening this weekend. Got hockey(Pens) and college football(UGA).
Maybe workout and rest as much as the kiddo and our aussie shepherd lets me.

That's a visit you'll never forget. Largest tree in the world in the Sequoia National Forest. And Yosemite is beautiful. You'll have a great time there if you do go to visit.

My grandson has picked up my favorite sport of hunting. He got his first deer and buck last year. It was a little spike. So, now, I’m trying to get him another, perhaps larger. Unfortunately, I recently lost access to 450 acres that I have hunted for 20 years, so I have been spending my Sundays scouring public lands looking for spots to sit him and give him opportunities. Have one spot that was hot right at the beginnings now that more guys are in the woods, the area has cooled off I’ll be out on Sunday looking for where the deer have gone and what route they are taking to the surrounding fields. The only games I have seen this year are the Bengals and Chargers games, so I have lucked out in the frustration department. Nothing like an 8 mile walk through the woods to relax and ground you!

I'll watch a few college games Saturday.

Weather will be sublime Sunday. Great for a sports car drive down the coast, then a few hours of extra gym time. Cut the lawn with a pair of dull scissors. I have zero interest in the nfl outside of the Steelers. Maybe one day before I'm 6 feet under they'll unfuck themselves with the slanted rigged up bullshit. At least officiate that **** on the up and up.Either way I'm good.

NASCAR. Haven't seen last week's race yet on DVR since it was rain delayed till Monday, plus this week's race. Also as I type this, Mrs. Burgundy is on her way home from central PA with another greyhound. Apparently the one we have isn't big enough, only 77 lb or so, and she wants another 90 pounder like we had before. She saw him when she picked up the foster dog that we have now who will be with us for another week or two and fell in love. So I will be busy with dogs. Pics will be on FB.

Pretty kewl about the dogs Ron!!!

Winter is coming fast here so I've been working on all outdoor stuff prepping for winter. Draining irrigation system, putting pumps away, fall tilling both upper and lower deck gardens (not Padio deck but place of location as upper is by main road and lower is "big" but close to house). Construction on horse barn. Always something to do here

Mrs. B is home with our new dog. He is very tall. Only a little over a year old, he never raced due to a broken front paw when he was a pup that didn't heal right. They think his mother stepped on him not long after he was born. It's turned out somewhat and he has a slight limp. A solid light red like our first greyhound. He's already figured out what dog beds are for and playing with toys a little bit. His name is Ray-Ray which we know we'll have to change. In keeping with the double-pump name thing I suggested Ju Ju but Mrs. B didn't like that.

Redzone channel is great, I mean commercial free, how can you go wrong there?
I like it as I hated the announcers with their bullshit nuthugging agendas. So I can be doing something and have the redzone on in the background without wanting to change the channel. That is with games the Steelers aren't playing in obviously. one of the new channels we have and liking it.

Dammit RON, put your foot down and tell her how it's going to be.... Then wake up from your dream and ask Mrs. Burgundy politely if she would reconsider the JuJu name.!

I was thinking of suggesting "Ol' Stabby".
We gave him a bath this morning and he smells much better.

I only cross the border in a caravan.

Gonna root against all the teams ahead of the Steelers in the Playoff standings...Calculating who we would rather have win & lose at this juncture of the season....

THIS AIN'T OVER YET

well, damn...Astros win it in 6...Now what do I do tomorrow?

Fun fact for the bye week. Chew on this...

<samp class="EmbedCode-container"><code class="EmbedCode-code"><blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Here's a crazy stat. Ryan Switzer caught his 50th career pass Sunday. Of WRs with 50+ receptions, his 6.42 yards per catch is the lowest in NFL history. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Steelers?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#Steelers</a></p>— Alex Kozora (@Alex_Kozora) <a href="https://twitter.com/Alex_Kozora/status/1184915527455690752?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">October 17, 2019</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> </code></samp>

I wonder what his yards per target are? The coaches need some tangible justification for his roster spot right? I mean it ain’t his returns.....
