So Now It's Inhouse Fighting

Even his most faithful of supporters have to be mulling over what it would be like having a fresh start. I think this team needs one.

I've always been a Tomlin fan, but yeah, if I'm being honest, I'm mulling over the idea. This year will reveal a lot about this team, and definitely this coaching staff.

I remember Rod Woodson complaining about Hines Ward being too rough.

Hines was a badass. There'll never be another like him.

And he did it with a smile. Miss that guy. He was a real treat to watch.

That whole team was full of badasses, Ward, Bettis, porter, big snack...all they were missing was a QB...a few years of kicking *** and enter Mike Tomlin….and here we are; years of bi-polar team disorder. "The Steelers are like a box of chocolates...you never know what you're going to get"

We know season to season exactly what we are getting. Not good enough. This year BigBen being out just microscopes that bottom line with heightened suck.

If Washington offered two first round picks I'd have to consider it if I'm ownership

You also wanted to keep Bell for a way over priced value. Tomlin should be outright fired so if any yet alone a first (singular) appears, you take it. If two firsts would Magicaly appear, you pull his ***, mid-sentence, from what ever interview he is doing and ship his *** out. Don't even bother retrieving his steelers team provided gear.

Just as much blame? He deserves some blame but the guy who coughs up the football in that situation (knowing the other guy has been trying to punch it out all game) deserves the majority of the blame. And I love JuJu.

I'm ok w/ that - but a free ball on the ground means, "JUMP ON IT". Period the end...

I'm not going to blame a 3rd string rookie UDFA QB playing in his first game for not recovering a fumble. He overshot the play. I blame JuJu because Humphrey had tried that exact same punch on him earlier in the game. Why didn't JuJu expect it again?

I don't get the logic. Every football player (especially at the NFL level), knows that if the ball is free - jump on it. No excuses.

I'm not saying that Juju isn't to blame - he ABSOLUTELY has ball security issues during pressure moments in the game. That's a mental issue that needs to be addressed. But, let us not forget, Juju is still a kid too---I'm praying this gets better w/ more experience. JMO...

Explain?

When I watch the video (see below) - I see a well thrown ball and an even better play on defense. The Raven's DB 'perfectly' times his well aimed punch just as Juju is securing the ball. You couldn't ask for a better play from a DB.

Maybe Juju should have just fell to the ground to ensure the 1st down is secured? Oh, I can hear the bitching had he done that - "does Tomlin teach his WR's to be ******* and fall after the catch?", etc...

I'm not saying you're wrong, Litos - I just look at the play and see 22 football players on the field. One defender makes a play and THAT SAME DEFENDER recovered the fumble. Our 3rd string QB watched him pick up the ball instead of falling on the ball (but maybe he overran the ball?)

It's all history now...

berm, I went near frame by frame and it looks as though the ball bounced perfectly in ravens favor and AWAY from Devlin's trajectory. EVERYTHING on that play fell perfectly in line for the ravens. Wind already blown. I would bet JuJu covers future catches faster & better.

All I meant is that it can't be the same blame

You do realize we have been “in” four of our five games (with an injury ridden team) all the way to the end
Scoreboard. I want to be clear. I will accept absolutely NO apologists for Mike Tomlin. He's the coach. His mantra is "Next Man Up", there will be no "but, the team is all injured and sad..." The world thinks Mike Tomlin is the greatest thing since wheat bread - well, make some toast ************!

As for the defense being pissy about the offense not holding up their end? Really? ******* REALLY? Where the **** have YOU guys been for the last 5 years? Welcome to the world of "How much to do I have to ******* do for YOU not to piss this all away?"

I'm fine if they're all pissy and taking shots at one another, but for the defense to suddenly be playing semi-literate football and be pissed with the offense that is now struggling is a ******* joke. They've sucked *** for HOW long? And now that they've probably got more 1st rounders on the field than ANY ******* TEAM IN THE LEAGUE, they can hold teams to under 30. Great ******* Job! Grab yourself a ******* donut.

Jesus.

Sorry but I'm not blaming a 3rd string undrafted rookie free agent making his first game appearance. He isn't even use to the speed of the game yet. Yes JuJu is young but he's fumbled before last year. It's his 3rd year and he's a 2nd round pick. He played at a high profile college in USC. Blaming anyone but him is illogical.

Yes, players are taught to jump on the ball. I'm not sure they teach much of that to QBs.

The other thing you have to consider is that Hodges is the 3rd string QB. He was VERY likely told by the coaches as he was going in not to do ANYTHING that would risk an injury. They were literally one play away from having Berry under center.

Meh, I understand your point now. We can't change the past...
