Ben, Brown and Bell made a bad coach and team look good.

There aren't many defensive players who are going to be that dominant throughout the entire game, especially when Seattle dominated the time of possession.

That, and when the Seattle coaches adjusted, Wilson was getting the ball out of his hands before anybody could even touch him. That's when you would adjust your scheme as well, but apparently the Steelers like to stick to the game-plan.

I am with Tibs all the way. I just have grown to a point where I can not sit through it anymore. The stupidity and bumbling of the team is a frustrating embarrassment. I have to turn the TV, or my anxiety goes through the roof. Being competitive and losing is one thing. Showing up looking like you never played football is something else..

Brown and Bell did not make this Team. ALL the players working together did and Bell was just trouble. Brown was becoming a giant baby because he had to share the spot light. Injuries happen so STOP PUTTING MY TEAM DOWN. If you are unhappy go celebrate some other team but leave here.

I was at the game their was no adjustment by the Seahawks..the pressure just didnt get there in the second half.. a Seahawks OL mentioned he could tell the pass rush was getting tired. Also it was hot as hell so his statement may have merit

Well when you ask 2 DL to rush the passer all day, one is getting doubled every single time, yeah they are going to get tired

For sure. :) Limas Sweed highlights from Texas were through the roof, as were Dri Archer's. Hey, pull up a chair and pour one out for what a ******* dynamic player Dri Archer was in college. Looked like he could have been a Tyreek Hill. I totally understood and appreciated drafting him. You gotta roll the dice, you can't foresee the future, it's not set in stone. The guy simply blew past players trying to tackle him, with 4.2 speed. Why not take a chance on him? Too bad the kid never made it in the NFL. /ducks for sniper fire

YES!!!! An Archer sighting! I'd hit the like button 10 times if I could. BTW, he's still available.......(166 pages)

Well actually they substituted liberally.

They did, but they were still getting doubled, one of the DE's in the game pretty much every play, even on the running plays. Tuitt kept trying that same rip move he used early in the game, the Seattle OG started to catch on and let him do it, then just used Tuitts momentum to push him right out of the play.
You're going to do alot better stopping the run and getting a push up the middle with 3 DL than you are 2 DL. That's common sense, especially with light ILBs.

There were absolutely adjustments made by the Seahawks. The pass rush was still getting there but Wilson was getting the ball out of his hands within 3 seconds routinely. I'm with you that they got worn down though, I think I heard they were out there for 72 total plays. And then the black jerseys in Pittsburgh September weather sure didn't help.

Definitely not arguing with you about the 2DL thing you hate it even when it works lol

When did it work, we gave up 300 yards passing and 151 yards rushing?

We have been running it for years now. There are plenty of games it has worked.

I’m with C on this. Everytime they did 3DL, stuff. Back to 2, 20plus 3rd down conversion. Same for O. Screen, TE, quick slant...working. **** it. Empty, sack or no play.

When they use 3DL they are in the 3-4. Cant stay in that vs multiple WR sets. Which is why we see 2DL so much all teams do now is send out multiple WR sets. When it works the players are doing their jobs. When it doesnt the coaches are idiots for using it. Its basically our base defense to combat today's NFL. And we finished 6th in defense last year.

We may be in opposition in that "other" forum but we agree pretty wholeheartedly here.
That is because at the end of the day we are Steelers fans, and children of God. Easy to lose sight of this in our everyday life. I fail at times... And then i remind myself ... rewind myself.

At the end of the day are they achieving their goal of stopping teams when it counts? It doesn't work when it matters the most and that is what matters the most.

They are not I will definitely agree with that.

Maybe against mediocre to bad teams. You won’t beat the good teams or succeed in the playoffs with that atrocious scheme. It’ll be exposed immediately and has been.

Being that it's basically our base defense that's not necessarily true..we've beaten good teams using it. And losses vs good or bad teams cant be solely traced to its use..

True, but maybe going 3 DL makes that defense top 5 with all the talent it has.

Or just clean up the mistakes being made

Bottom line is the fail result of the 2DL far out weights the successful results.

Salute the nation

I would disagree because we've been using it as a base pretty much for awhile and 13-3 and 9-6-1 doesnt suggest far out weights the successful results.

Or clean up the coaching errors being made.
