if Ben

Rudolph plays a half of football and everyone is ready to make him the starting QB... I remember when Zach Mettenberger was awesome for a game. Not saying Rudolph won't be good but good lord, settle down.
He could go either way. But a good start and two good preseasons...

I dare someone to ask Ben tomorrow if the sun is still shining, lol

yeah they valued him when they signed him in 2012, three years prior. when they benched him for osweiler, not so much.
Oh he was declining I don't debate that.... they still initially liked him past his prime until they didn't. And nobody has said Ben is passed his. Which having the year he had last year not hard to deduct he still has value.

Rudolph had a horrible preseason last year but a true fan would know that, slashwrists again shows his lack of knowledge.
I liked the gashsteel nickname better pop. F- stay in school.

"some" value, but I think "multiple firsts" isnt really realistic

Ben's not getting traded, LOL. We don't even know the injury, and Rudolph played one half of football

Dammit .... 0-2 start, our defense is swiss cheese, our playmakers are gone , Ben is hurt, we need to find entertainment where we can find it, its going to be a long season

If Mason is Ben's predisesure then it's time to step up and he should be looking foward to taking over. If he isn't then he's just another wanna be, but his after game interview or what ever they call it he seemed relaxed and had the right answers. Wasn't able to watch the game but now I'm actually looking foward to it. I'll also go back and check his play out in college.
misses any games, I feel very comfortable with Mason starting. that is the 1st time I have said that in years. so that's something.

No one is trading high draft picks for Ben at this moment. C'mon.
He absolutely has a no trade clause. If it's serious then I feel he'll retire. 37 years old but banged up, a long career behind him. Depends on where his head is at. Just signed a two year extension in april guaranteed for injury.

Agreed, if this requires surgery and a long lay-off, I'm sad to say we may have seen Big Ben's last career game yesterday.

The limitless potential of the triple B's (or whatever they were called), blew up right in our faces and never amounted to anything. An era very well might be over. As it usually does, it will end with a whimper and not a bang.

Indeed, and for that Ben will be revered forever in Steelers lore.

**** those other two B-itches.

Indeed, **** those guys. What a waste of talent, flushed down the drain due to personal issues, self-aggrandizement, selfishness and greed.

LOL ;)

Ben will be here as our starter until he retires. It was good to see Rudolph play well and gain tremendous confidence. That can't be expressed enough. Hopefully, if Ben misses any time, Rudolph can get some wins under his belt as well.

Worst part of this injury if it's an extended injury is that Tomlin will get a pass this year. I'm hoping he doesn't but it looks like a complete mess. Training camp seemed so nice a month ago.

Ben's also got $25m of unamortised signing bonus that hits the cap if he's traded and his base salary this year is only $2.5m. If he was traded tomorrow there would be a $22.8m dead money cap hit (which goes up about $150K each week) which I assume would hit the cap the year he is traded, i.e. 2019. The Steelers don't have close to $22.8m of cap space hanging around to absorb the dead money.

Thinking the same thing. Why Ben and Mondrops were even starting this game both injured.

It seems to be the Steelers thing the last couple of years - remember last year when Boswell was struggling with his kicking and it came out towards the end of the season he had a groin injury which may have been affecting him most of the season.
