The offense reached a new dimension ever since he caught that TD against the Texans. Dude is freakin awesome.

He was making plays at Latrobe and once he was given opportunity

he has played above the line football

obviously

Major talent find.....lets hope he keeps this up because he seems to have built a lot of confidence. And mostly where it counts (Ben and Tomlin/Haley). Impressive span of three games now one of the hottest players in the league right now.

And....hes outplaying his former Clemson running mate Sammy Watkins .....

The kid has lots of talent and seems to be catching on. Best play of the game he made on recovering the onside kick. His touch down was great but that was a pure talent heads up play.

He sure looks the part, and it's great to recognize a pick who looks to be a bargain as much as the ones they obviously missed on. Now they just need to keep that intensity level up and they have as good a shot as anybody.

I really had a lot of questions about Bryant. He looked so uneven in school. He really only had one great route, dropped a TON of balls, and I'll admit I'm biased against scrawny receivers. But wow. He has been the major shifting point in this offense. As much as I like Wheaton as a slot guy, he doesn't scare anyone on the outside, much like Manny Sanders. Martavis is an imposing mismatch that ***** up a defense's plans.

Tomlin seems to have a gift with WRs. That was the position he played, after all. Our WR coach Mann coached with him in Tampa and they seem to have quite an eye for WR talent. I thought Bryant was a solid upside pick for the 4th, though there were a few guys I liked better. But they flat-out nailed it.

Bryant has Randy Moss's triangle numbers. The big question on him was could he find the ball in the air and be consistent. Seems he can. As a matchup he's a nightmare, and with so many guys who can catch on this team (Spaeth, Miller, Brown, Wheaton, and Bell) it's really hard for a defense to account for him in the crowd.

Interesting note from an NFL.com article:

Rookie Martavis Bryant, who played in the shadow of Sammy Watkins and DeAndre Hopkins at Clemson, has caught five touchdowns in his first three games, tying former Pittsburgh tight end Eric Green's NFL record dating back to 1980. The Steelers have averaged 41.3 points per game since adding Bryant to the wide-receiver rotation in Week 7. Over that three-game span, Roethlisberger is 88-of-119 passing (73.9 percent) for 1,127 yards (9.47 yards per attempt), 14 touchdowns and zero interceptions. Credit general manager Kevin Colbert for finding talented wide receivers in the mid-to-late rounds of the draft.

Umm... Not quite. Moss ran a 4.25 40-yard dash. That is FAST. Bryant is a 4.40 guy. Good but not super elite like Moss.

Randy Moss was a once a decade talent at wide receiver.

I gave the kid a good amount of **** for his fumble in the pre-season, man I'm glad I was WRONG.

He looks awesome, and he's catching just about everything. The only complaint I had last night was on the one route he didn't come back to the qb when Ben was scrambling, that's something he'll get with time, many young WR's don't get that early on in their careers.

I think by the end of the season it is A. Brown and Bryant as #1 and #2 with Wheaton settling in at the slot position. I feel Wheaton would be a stud in the slot being a Wes Welker type guy and a mismatch against any nickel back in the league. Also, with Bryants height and speed he should eat up those comeback routes and hook routes. Defenders have to be scared of his speed and him getting over top of them so once he and Ben get more comfortable with each other I could see a lot of first downs coming from him.

He, Wheaton and even AB can stretch the field. That is dangerous! Bryant also seems to be running pretty good routes and making some difficult catches. He looks like a great pick and Ben will only get more and more confidence in him. Bryant, Wheaton and AB have the potential to be the best receiving crew in the game. I won't give it to them yet but they may be there before the end of the season. Consistency will be the key.

All he does is catch Touchdowns. 5 of his 10 receptions are TD's

I love what the kid is doing. But remember he is going against teams 3rd CB and last night played against the rats 5th CB because of injury.

Having said that, this is exactly why Ben wanted a tall WR. All QBs need a guy that can just go up and get the ball. Ben has done well with smaller WRs like Ward, Wilson, Holmes, Brown etc... but now he has someone that can catch a ball that isn't perfectly thrown.

Well done, young man - keep grinding and playing lights out. Props to the coaching staff and FO on there research on young Bryant...

with time he could be as good a Fitz.

Two words on Bryant, Plaxico Burress. Carry on...

Two things, coaches need to teach him to come back to the ball at times, you can't wit for the ball and lets have some class when you get a TD..

I think the play you are referring to later in the game (maybe 3Q) where the ball fell short there was another receiver (Miller?) who crossed right in front of him and he must have thought that receiver was going to try and catch the ball because he did not come back. Keep in mind its his 3rd NFL game, he's going to get coached up and improve. Kid's still a rookie.

Give up on the hope that anyone will ever be like Barry Sanders with TD's. You know, pretty much the ONLY PLAYER IN NFL HISTORY TO DO THAT. Every other player celebrates, spikes the ball, does a little dance, says a little prayer. He can do whatever the hell he wants to do if he keeps scoring TD's.

don't get used to him in another year or 2 he'll be gone to another team that can afford him, we'll never be able to afford him after he makes a few more catches and becomes noticed by the rest of the league!

You talking about the QB from the Texans ? Cause if you are talking about the WR from the Cards...I like your homerness but I dont ever see that happening...but to each his own ..

its not just poorly thrown balls, its that ben can put it high out front and the DB, especially the smaller DBs, wont have a play on it. same with jump balls. Gives you more options to throw into coverage

Yes. And with the benefit of having Brown, Wheaton, Bell and Miller (and now Bryant) it makes it almost impossible for a defense to cover everyone. I also wish the Steelers play a top team like the pats* in the regular season so I could see how they man up to them.

Did you not watch the Indy game last week? The Pats* are good, but not like the cheating years.
