The Agony of De Feet – an Antonio Brown Story

I'm surprised hockey isn't #1. The objective isn't to hit other people but the speeds are a helluva lot faster.

CTE is more sub concussive hits. It's why boxing is #1, as well as other fighting sports. Football, is all concussive, Practice, hitting sleds, Oklahoma drills, blocking, tackling, being tackled. It's chronic hitting.

At least in hockey, you don't take any hits in practice at all, so games are the only way you're going to get hit. But still, there's a lot of hits in the game, and they are big along the boards. I was glad for the new rules for icing. The eliminated a ton of full force hits at full speed. Now we just have to start weeding out the headhunting guys that raise their elbows everytime they come in for a hit. Should be an automatic 1 game suspension for every attempt. It will create a lot of confusion, and pissed off fans, but the players would adjust quickly, and the game would be a lot safer to play. But honestly, there is no reason to bring your elbows up in hockey, ever. leading with the shaft of the stick to the head, should also be policed the same way. CTE would drop significantly if those changes are made.

There’s two quality documentaries about concussions for hockey. One is Head Games, the other is Ice Guardians. A common misconception is fighting and head shots are the primary cause for concussions. This is s fallacy. A concussion is your body/skull snapping in a whiplash type fashion and your brain bouncing off your skull. Think Shaken Baby Syndrome. In hockey, this is actually caused more by body to body hits where there is no head contact. They have players who received concussions talking about their worst concussions and then showing the hits. Most of them had no head contact.
CTE is obviously different altogether and obviously caused by head shots and blows to the head.
Sorry, just Cliff Claven-ing to differentiate between concussions and CTE and the major causes of each in sports.

Having Brown sign a waiver to wear his old helmet is pointless. If you think for one second he wouldn't sue the league the moment he got out you're crazy. He'll just say that his head trauma cause him to make the poor choice to sign the waiver.

REASLITY is not necessarily right when he got out but MORE in tune with being broke and that old be even before he gets out.

Salute the nation
