Steelers mixing it up with Barron, Bush, Williams

Lolley says Bush is a combination of barron and Williams, fast with the ability to stop the run.

I was thinking run stuffing is, probably, his weakness.

Ark, no offense intended as you seem like a pretty decent dude, but everytime I see your pic it reminds me of my drunken uncle who never wore a shirt and used to take his teeth out and chase us around the house when I was a kid. Thought I was over it but you're starting to give me flashbacks.

Im still skeptical that we have upgraded the middle of the defense...

Hargarve is capable at nose...but the 3 headed dragon of Williams, Barron, and the rookie have a lot to prove on the field, and then you have Edmunds and Davis behind them...

Those 5 players just dont give me the confidence to say we will be fine this season..

I'm confident it is upgraded. I think that is a given. Either Barron or Bush will be better at that position than bostic. Bostic was a fill in when we couldn't get what we wanted. He was good for what he is, but that isn't speed.

Before shazier went down, Vince was playing well. He is good at that position.

The question I think you are getting at is, have we upgraded enough? That remains to be seen. Honestly, we don't have to be a whole lot better last year and we are 1 or 2 wins up. Otoh, a little worse and we are 1 to 2 wins down.

Bush will upgrade us.
How can’t he!? Barron is better suited than Williams for the nickel.

Davis is Davis. A below average starter. Edmunds rookie season was all right. We need to see improvement form him. Well see if he was the right choice. I think Reid would have been better. He certainly was as a rookie.

Because he can be out of position or get pancaked by massive OL when Tomlin goes into his famous 2 DL sets.

That was Davis when he cost the team the Cowboys game with a bad penalty. His play will speak for itself this season.
 
I think Barron was brought in much the same way Morgan Burnett was last year. They didn't know what they would get in the draft and they had a hole on the defense. Had they not got Bush or Edmund's last year they got a big problem. So he is an insurance policy. I hope they can use Baron better than Burnett last year. There has to be a role for a bigger guy that can run and cover.

I think Vince is the guy who will lose reps as the season goes on.
