Is Mike Tomlin happy Antonio Brown and Bell are gone?

Personally, I predict AB has a meltdown on the sideline or social media or both by Week 6. Bell will be on IR or at least miss several games by Week 8.

You better believe he's happy. No issues this offseason without them on the roster. All you've seen is the team hanging out or guys working out. A lot of positive talk coming from this locker room and it's a much more likable team even though there's less talent.

I agree with everything you said except the less talent part.

Conner > bell

We will have to see about the WR's but until they get a complete season, better or worse then little titties has yet to be seen. Plus I bet overall WRs will be more GAME production (move chains / red zone / ect. Than when little titties was here. MORE TEAM oriented for sure.

I'm not going to deny the talent level of Bell and Brown. Bell is a pretty special running back with what he can do on the field, but since Brown is the only on field talent they're losing from last year, it's a pretty significant loss. There are few in the NFL who can match what Brown brought to the table let alone on this roster. It won't be easy to reproduce those 1,300 yards and 15 touchdowns from last year.

I think the talent remains to be seen and I’m excited to watch it unfold. Washington, Samuels, Johnson, Moncrief & Snell to be specific. It’s very similar to 2008 but then it was the offensive line, this year, it’s the role skill players. That line never developed into a dominant unit & they still pulled off a championship. I’m much more optimistic about this season’s “unproven.”

What Brown had in production, on an individual basis, is just that, individual. NOW there will be team production, as in team chemestry / playing as a team / coaching focus as a team / no allowance for meMEme....................... There is no measure for that and when you look at individual statistic you're right, brown was very good but I think with the gain of sportsmanship vs the loss of brown's production, isn't going to be as big of gap as one might think. BELL was replaced and the player exceeded Bell's production, why can't brown be replaced and even if not exceeded, how about near like 80-90%.

All I'm saying is the STEELERS (we) will be fine without idiot meMEme twins and turmoil they brought.

When the steelers had a lot of success especially between 2004 to 2010, it was the team before the individual stats ... The steelers had a lot of leaders in his teams .... In the last few years, it was a problem with so many drama and I think that the steelers want to return which allowed to have success before.

THIS!
The Notorious D-I-C NAILED it.
I do not believe one of the Steelers' receivers will produce Antonio Clown numbers circa 2014 - 2015 ( 129Recs 1698Yds 13TDs / 136Recs 1834Yds 10TDs ).
But JuJu had better stats than A Clown last year.
I know, I know. A Clown pulled all the coverage and double teams and over the top safety help. I know this.
This team will be more of a pick your poison offense.
Instead of feeding the ball to and ego of A Clown, Ben/Fichtner can spread the wealth around.
Steelers have a top five O-Line that will protect Ben and open lanes in the running game.
The ONLY real concern is the health of VMac and Conner.
The options are there for the TEAM without having to placate egos.
This could look like Manning/James/Harrison/Wayne/Stokely circa 2004 or Rypien/Riggs/Monk/Clark/Sanders circa 1989.

Tomlin will not be happy when the loss of Bell and Brown show us his real worth. He had the best trio in the league and lost to the worst teams in the league.
Gonna be a painful season. painful

Bell didn't even play last season. Of course we don't know what the offense will look like without Brown, but Ben can spread that ball around and will that offense to move.

I don't know about a painful season.

conner is not better than Bell. I’m not sure conner will even be the steelers lead back.

We won't know if Conner can continue to produce on the same level he did last year, but he WAS statistically better than Bell in every category.

YPC(arry) < Conner
TDs << Conner
Gains fo 20+ yards <<<Conner
YPC(atch) < Conner
YAC < Conner

At the end of the analysis the only area one could say Bell might have been better than Conner last year was pass blocking. And I do believe this is important, but as far as being a "running back"? Conner's first full-start year was better (easily) than Bell's last.

The question is, can Conner do it again?

tomlin is much more concerned about his ego than he is wins/losses
im sure behind closed doors, he begged for those two to not return to the team. they both made tomlin look like a fool and the got roasted in the media for it
i actually think the team will be better this year(no credit to tomlin). of course after last years crapfest it shouldnt be hard to improve

And will Shades make a concerted effort to rotate carries for really the first time in his tenure? They have a potential three-headed monster at the ready, but Tomlin has shown an alarming lack of creativity in this area.
