John Jackson had to be one of the most underrated LTs of all time.

He and Dermontti Dawson were the cornerstones of great Steelers offensive line play for around a decade and the guy never made a Probowl, as far as I know.

I remember when we lost him in FA to SD in 1998, IIRC. It seemed like a loss it took a long time to recover from. I think we signed Will Wolford, who was decent, but the OL
seemed to take a step backwards.

Wolford played LG for the last couple years that Jackson was with the Steelers.

I think they tried to move Wolford to LT to replace Jackson, but he got injured either in training camp/preseason or early in the season.

They eventually stabilized the position by signing Wayne Gandy, who was another underrated/forgotten Steeler.
