Yes, many of you will remember these players, but this is a list of players who are not often brought up, but who were pretty decent in their own right, or at least notable.
In no order of priority...
FB Frank Pollard. He was really pretty good but on teams with very little offensive talent, including QB. In 1985 he had 233 carries for 991 yards for a 4.3 apc.
DEs Keith Willis and Gary. Pretty underrated DEs. The 80 teams seemed bad, but they weren't all that terrible, like the Browns the last 30 years or so.
They only seemed bad compared to the 70's teams. They won division titles and made the playoffs. Willis and Gary were not bad.
ILB Bryan Hinkle, one of my favorite forgottens. I had beers with him.
CB Dwayne Woodruff, one of the best CBs to ever play for Pitt.
DE Keith Willis.
RB Barry Foster. Yea, a lot remember him, but he's rarely brought up as a great Steeler RB. He was pretty damn good, just got burnt out early.
NT Joel Steed. He was the beast in the middle before Big Snack.
ILB Earl Holmes. Classic plugger inside LB, very solid. Not built for today's game but very capable in his day.
