A did you know about Pro bowl Steelers

It was a money issue too. The Steelers were known as cheap before Heinz Field was built. Whatever Rod was asking for he was worth it, and there is no doubt he would have a starter at cornerback for year one of the new contract.

The Steelers screwed this one up. Woodson is among the best 4 defensive backs in the history of the NFL. You just don't let a guy like that go, you make accommodations for him.

It is also obvious money is the reason O'Donnell left. Rooney didn't want to pay him. Neil was a solid passing QB who didn't turn the ball over, capable of winning playoff games. Hastings ran the wrong way. Then Donahue drafted Kordell and down our super bowl chances went.

O'Donnell was decent, on his best day, but let's not pretend as if the dude was the tip-top of the league, as far as QB play is concerned. As I recall, the Jets threw an obscene amt of money at him following the SB30 loss, and it was absolutely no surprise that the Steelers had NO chance of matching/beating their offer.

They could have beat it they just laid out what they wanted to pay and had no intention of overpaying.

As far as Neil he was a game manager who had a low iNT percentage. Nothing more............
