So, why has SD played 3 different positions in 3 years? And did the same thing in MD.
I did not ask the ? I watch steeler games.

Here are my expectations of draft picks.
2nd round- low end bust or backup. High end important starter or star. Mid ground functional starter. Davis is a functional starter.
1st round- low end backup/ bust, High end star player. Mid ground important starter. Jury is out on Edmunds, but he started in his first season so I see him likely as a functional starter to important starter. The Steelers don't usually draft in the top ten of rounds remember.Sean Davis was the 58th pick. That is a glorified 3rd rounder. Edmunds was 28th and had 2nd-3rd round grades by a lot of sources. The Steelers liked some of his traits. I really don't feel like they are getting eaten up on the deep post/ seem pass like they did when it was Mitchell and Davis. I'm not that concerned about safety.
So, why has SD played 3 different positions in 3 years? And did the same thing in MD. Sounds like a guy who never seems to play well in his positions so they have to move him around in order
to try to find a spot he is good at. I never liked the Burns or Davis picks....now I like them even less.

Troy played all over, as they try to do with Davis. Yes, they very much should be compared.
Hey, everyone, first off, I wanted to introduce myself. I'm Hunter Homistek, and I work for DKPittsburghSports.com, where I handle social media and marketing but also report on the Steelers and Pirates. I kinda do a little bit of everything over there.
I've been fortunate to spend time at Steelers OTAs and minicamp, and I wanted to share my most recent piece, where I talked with four of the primary competitors for the backup safety position: Marcus Allen, Jordan Dangerfield, Kameron Kelly, and Dravon Askew-Henry. I wanted to know how they felt about the competition, what they think sets them apart, etc. For me, this is an interesting battle because of the importance of it first but also because it really feels like a tight cluster after Terrell Edmunds and Sean Davis.

I look forward to hearing your feedback and discussing this — or anything else! — further. Excited to join these forums and talk with you all throughout training camp and the season.
Davis played CB as a Senior at Maryland due to injuries. He played Safety for the three years prior.
After being drafted, he was slotted for SS. However was then moved to nickel back due to Golson’s injury. He then had to replace Burns who also got injured and ended up starting at CB.
Do you even know the players you talk about negatively or just read Coach’s diatribes?

Davis was not bad last year but you press on with your hate agenda for the man. Your facts are not facts but a ****** evaluated stance, that you diarrhea on a weekly basis.Davis was terrible at corner in college and the Steelers foolishly tried to play him as the slot guy. A dumb move I called out on the spot and was proven correct later.
It doesn't matter where Davis plays, he misses way too many tackles ( leads the team ) and makes very few plays on the ball. His angle in pursuit is rather poor. But hey why let facts get in the way here! Press on.

What gets me about coach is inability to soak in information and adjust an opinion based upon it. It is ok to be wrong, it is ok for an opinion to change. But coach refuses to be educated. I can't remember a time his opinion has changed. Coach I give you props for not starting ten thousand spastic threads lately, this is your next step in development. Adjusting when need be.More BS for the crops. As explained, Davis was asked to play CB his Sr year due to injuries on the squad. An unselfish move on his part for the team. He was drafted as a Safety but was also lauded by the Steeler scouts for his position flex capability. Davis was asked to play nickel corner and then boundary corner due to injuries to both starting slot and corner positions.
He also led in team tackles so what’s the ratio between Tkl/MT genius? You won’t answer that because it doesn’t fit your MO. As discussed endlessly on this board and in dozens of articles including Hunters’s site, Davis was tasked to reduce the long plays in the secondary. A stat that shows was cut in HALF in 2018 from 2017. There is the facts getting in the way of your agenda. But do press on. You are returning to your usual narcissistic self.

And what gets me is how some here defend mediocrity. I can show you several 3rd party at rating systems that show Davis isn’t a good player, quite the opposite and people act as if it doesn’t matter! Can you Davis ditto heads show me the reverse? NO. So who’s correct? And who refuses to be educated?
A joke. Okay let’s use 3rd party ranking systems Ike. Want tally them up and see where David rates? Calling you out.
Of course you don’t! They are with me and you know it. Try letting that sink in. Key word is try, you can’t and won’t.
Also you might get a clue that picked on DB’s sort of get extra tackles because their man often is open. DUH

Dont quote me but didnt Davis play more plays than anyone else on defense last year? Clearly the coaches think he is more than adequate
I think Edmunds played more actual snaps. Davis missed a game so I'm pretty sure Edmunds had more total snaps.

Lineups.com has Edmunds with 1187 and Davis with 1102. Not that it matters they were very close.
