Ask Drunk Cope 6/27/19

Cope, when is Bill Cowher gonna come back to coach this team?

Bill Cowher is that girl you dated in High School that was out of your league, and you had a great time dating, until she left you for someone else. Steeler fans are that guy, pining over that great girl to come back. But the reality is, she ain't never coming back, and she never thinks about you...

Though he'll be back when we put him in the ring of honor.

1) I would never use beer to clean a grill, only to lubricate the griller. I hate outdoor grills with a passion. It's fun to cook on them, but damn does mother nature kick the **** out of them. You're lucky to have one last 3 years in humid climates. That's why everyone has to figure out how to get rust off of their grill, then end up cooking on it anyway, so you're eating broken down metal... I keep an electric flat grill for $35 from Walmart, that I set up outside on a folding table when I feel like grilling. when I'm done, I bring it inside, and wash, it, then put it away, so I don't have to stare at that eyesore the rest of the year whilst enjoying my porch.

This season, get ready for reviewing PI to become a complete clusterfuck. It's the first year, they'll be confused, and they'll **** it up. Then you'll have NYC calling in to help Brady get another first down on another phantom PI late in a game. Really going to enjoy that...

I may have just lost all respect for you. I live near Houston, Texas and you will not find more humidity anywhere. I have the same grill for the last 8 years. I keep it covered and I might get a little rust on the outside, but inside is perfect. Living here, I am grilling year round, almost every weekend. I would never waste a beer to clean a grill....the onion thing does work well though.

Alcohol was meant to be consumed. Not wasted.

Sorry should have mentioned our change in temps as well in the NE. We're only using grills for like 6 mos a year.

How long has your grill lasted Coolie?

Cope.

Do you see the steelers rolling with 4 TE's? If so, McDonald, x-man and the two rookies? Or are they bringing in another vet?

Hell no. This year, I'm not sure if they can find 3 to keep... I would see us grab a vet into camp, if the rookie looks like a project. We're keeping 3, but probably not 3 that are currently on our roster.

NC - about as humid as it gets; same grill for over 10 years. The trick is having a cover and blowing up a coke on it each season followed by a good onion rub. FWIW - there is no rust on my grill and those big crusty things are flavor crystals. Next time you in Raleigh area, let me know and I will treat you to a onion crusted steak with the secret coke sauce.

Seriously, I was listening to NFL radio tonight. They had an interview with John Perry who was a ref in the last SB and just retired. The guy is a really good interview, but I can't say as I got a warm fuzzy about the process. The PI situation with coaches and their hankies is going to be a cluster **** this year. One point he made is that each time the clock is stopped for a review, there is an advantage for the offense. His point, but I agree...I extrapolate that to the NFL just gave another tool to the coaches to toss a flag to review a "suspicious penalty" to give them more time to think about their next play.

Yea, I just mentioned to Coolie, we have to deal with actual winter up north. That would kill my covers and grill.

Agree 100%. Sometimes challenges can be used as extra long timeouts. You should be set on both scenarios and what your team is doing after each and every challenge.

And I'll extend this point, since Tony and I discussed it on the podcast. The Steelers may go with 5 RBs 2 TEs and 6WRs. I think JuJu or JaySam could line up as a TE in a pinch. Plus in blocking situations, we're always bringing in a young T to play the extra blocker, so little need for a 3rd TE.

Not gonna lie, when I used to have my MLK parties, they were open house parties that started on Friday and ended on Monday on MLK weekend, usually during the divisional round of the playoffs. I would grill burgers in the snow on my gas grill for the football games. Them were some times!!

Pshaaawwww....y'all northerners just need to discover fur lined grill covers. Keeps your grill warm in winter and feels just like sheep in summer...er...did I type that out loud.

Who gets your number two TE spot?

Xavier Grimble today. If we pick up a vet after the cuts, Grimble goes back to 3. I'm kind of excited to see if Grimble plays like he wants to be #2. He really is a good receiver. Just not a great blocker. Good, not great.

Also want to see what Sefarius Jenkins brings to the table. If he's close, we may keep him. He wouldn't count as a rostered player, so we'd get to carry an extra player. This might be the wild card this year.

TE depth definitely worth watching through camp...I won't be shocked by a signing after other teams cuts...pending, of course, seeing what we have in our draft pick. He has a chance to be a pleasant surprise.
