Steelers fans rated 5th best

They get a Red Hot Poker just by default.

Also about the article, I think the STEELERS may have had some band wagoners fall off due to missing the POs and the meMEme twins drama. There can hardly be a measurable between the top 5 spots regardless of their criteria being skewed. Who counted and by what means of counting was used other than some fLucking talking head seeing a HOIGH lite back-ground view of the stands??????

It isn't like the ones missing aren't watching at home. Also overlooked often is how many fans pile into bars everywhere to watch the Steelers. They should do a comparison on that with the other teams. And the amount of pure Steeler bars are impressive.

Dallas and Green bay fans show well in general but overall nobody is even close.

As far as the bandwagon fans, every team has them. When they leave no biggie. Doesn't effect anything in the grand scheme...........

In terms of traveling to see the team, Steelers fans rate #1. Where the quality has gone down might be in Pittsburgh. I see too many empty seats and people leaving early.

Slash, you are absolutely correct on this. I've traveled a lot of "out of the way places" and ALWAYS Steelers fans present. I went on a Mission trip in deep Mexico and was amazed how many "STEELERS" jerseys I saw. Those people are so poor but yet found a way to get STEELERS Jersey and NOT by handout. (I'm sure every NFL team has had miss-print that ended up charity)

What TEAMS in the NFL don't have fans leaving early, that argument doesn't hold water. Dallas, one year, had so many fans leave that it was 90% steelers fans left. Denver / Kansas City/ are a couple I've witness desert their respective stadiums so don't tell me about fans leaving early as that is commen through out the NFL.

Haven’t you nothing noticed more yellow seats in home games? While every team has their share of people that leave early our percentage of fans that do has gone up over the years. That’s what I’m saying.

Maybe our fan base was better in the past?

At Three Rivers Stadium it was more inconvenient to get up and go to the bathroom / concessions / place to watch areas than it is here at Heinz Field. Heinz Field has many places to watch the game that are not in your seat, this is a fact many forget about. Open concourses with TVs, the round abouts exiting, VIP boxs to name a few and people use those areas extensively. I myself went to a game when the OPEN endzone area was still there. I stood there 3/4 of the game. I got great photos etc.. So to just say the empty seats are people leaving is not fully true. I think people assume an empty seat is someone who has left when in reality it is just someone who is in a different place. I realize some have actually left but that % is no different than any other stadium.

Maybe it was because of all the night games, as discussed in the forum ad nauseam.

Plus, there are numerous ways to watch a game now with all the streaming access, and in some fans eyes much less hassle. Although I myself do enjoy the tailgating and in game atmosphere.

Art Rooney discussed the night games on SNR radio when the schedule was released for this exact point.

Buffalo fans will fill the seats and stay for the whole game during a blizzard -25 with 30 mph winds lose 24-6 and come back the next week for more suffering.

No, everyone says posters don't get banned here, but your new name should be Ike Smelly.

So I'm sitting in the Jacksonville Jaguars stadium 1000 miles from Pittsburgh and I'm in awe from the 35,000 plus fans who have invaded that stadium top to bottom.

5th?..hahaha

What year? Was there many times in early 2000’s every year got less and less cause the mayor had to tell fans not to sell tix to us
I remember my first Sunday night game there the whole upper deck was nothing but terrible towels flying.

Of course tailgate lot was 99 percent black and gold

I Remeber an article about the Jacksonville mayor making over the radio plea to not sell tickets to the PITTSBURGH area code ### 's . I always thought that was funny and other teams have done near the same as well. I think Dallas / Tampa / Cincinati / Jets or some other team (play off game I think) just to name a few. You'd see a news clip from that town with some team official or public savant type announcement. So yea, 5th place seems about right..................... in BAZzArRo WORLD
