Tomlin Extension

He is already contracted through 2020. Why oh why would you add. If the team plays well this season then you can add a year. If they do great you can add two. If you dont sign him next year there will be questions about his future. If they dont do well, there should be.

Lots of Fanboys in the Steeler groups on FB. They don't like it when you're critical of the team and Coach Shades. They think Colbert and Shades shoot rainbows out their *****.
 
JUST a little clarity, this whole thread was started on hear say. I haven't seen anything reporting they are working on an extention. If someone can show printed artickle it would be GREATLY appreciated (proof). If they were looking to extend, it would take about 15minutes to put that contract together and announce........................ Seems like I've been reading this thread for weeks.......................


JUST for the record, I'm totally against extention this year, play out the season and also why give an extention with two years left on your contract????????? NORMALLY it would be next season for the extention so I think many's here G-string is pulled even up a little high.....

I wouldn't give Tomlin an extension until he has a great 2019 season. Make him EARN it.
 
It would be utterly irresponsible of Art II to extend this guy at this juncture. What if the team goes in the tank in 2019 and 2020, and now they’re stuck with Coach Cool Shades contract for an additional two seasons. That’s plain stupid to extend him at this time.

Like Tom said. It is just company money. It doesn't go against the cap. So they could easily fire him. It just cost them some cash.

Yeah, i don't know why anyone would be up in arms about a Coach's contract. It can be termated at any time with zero effect on the team.

they dont fire coaches and they dont like to give away money(except AB)
so if tomlin gets an extension, you can bet he will be here to collect all of it..........regardless of how the team is doing
 
If you say so.

I'd bet, if they keep winning and go 3-13 or so the following year, the issue is different than if they go 9-7 or 8-8 ish

Let the contact run out. It’s how the Steeler tend to let coaches go.

I’m still shocked Tomlin kept the special teams coach.
