Steelers Trade up to get Bush

I’d love to see the Steelers package another deal to get back into the second round (maybe both 3rd rounders?) And grab one of these CB's. If Bush and a new CB could shore up the defense, it would be well worth it.

Plus wasn't the suit like designed by his brother who wants to be a fashion designer as like a representation of a guitar in honor of Nashville? If that's the case that only shows high character qualities not bad ones. He honors his brother by wearing his designed suit (which maybe even he thought looked ridiculous, but wore it for him anyways) that shows selflessness, and lacking any sort of vanity about his image. Granted, that's if what I heard about the suit is true.

Regardless, a suit does not a high character person make

While coming a little short (no pun intended) of Ryan Shazier's sparq of 152, you can see Bush is clearly an athlete.

But not only is he athletic, and speedy. and instinctual. He was productive, and not just in a one year setting.

Add into the equation that he has NFL blood lines and the Steelers got one hell of a player. Which is no surprise when you look at Edmunds, and Watt. You can see what they are trying to build on defense. Fast try hard players. You get enough of them and good things.

A few of you might be thinking b b but what about getting off blocks? Shazier had some problem in that area too. And he developed well, most would say. Bush has the speed and the athleticism to see the potential block and quickly move in position to get around it. Always more than one way to skin a cat.


Now get out your box of tissue and enjoy his family's tribute to their son and brother, who made them proud.

I think it's more like a sign of the times Chuck. May be too early to judge future character issues by the dress and demeanor of the candidate,..ya know?

Only way they could roll back to suit and tie era would probably be a team mandatory minimum thing...In fact,.I think I recall some teams doing that.

Bush is the type of ILB teams need to combat NFL offenses today. I thought they’d have to give up a little bit more to move up that far. While I thought we could get a good player with 2.52, the opportunity to get elite talent and a much-needed playmaker on defense is big.

That and as long as he can run with that TE and stay close it will at least make a difficult throw for the QB

Also people should know that probable first rounders who are expected to be on camera when drafted high get fashion designer offers... most aren’t paying for these suits, they are basically runway modeling them... its one of those backdoor endorsement type deals agents work out in this day and age... so it’s possible his wardrobe choices weren’t even his own lol

I absolutely love when guys get knocked for being undersized when they are like 1 inch off the standard height.... 5’11 235 isn’t tiny or too small.... he has all the ilb mandatory requirements... great read and react,,, extremely fast quick twitch, great sideline to sideline speed, great 40 time too, though that is secondary for ilbs... most importantly everyone raves about his instincts...add to that he is an extremely physical guy...
the bottom line is White has the frame to be a prototypical ilb, but we don’t need a prototypical one. If bush was two inches taller, he goes higher than White and we probably miss out on both... if he can learn to use his athleticism to combat taller tes like troy did, then this guy has all pro potential... and that kind of value was worth what we gave up

my thoughts after a good night sleep, even though at the moment I didn't like how much we gave to trade up I now understand it better:
- Devin Bush is a top 10 talent on this draft ( and probably on most drafts)
- After the top 12, talent was very similar up to the 3rd round, so our 1.20 is more like a 2nd rounder in value.
- Given that premise we gave up two 2nds and a next season's Late 3rd (3.32?) so it's more like a 4th in exchange for a top 10 talent.
- Bush wouldn't be available past bengals and packers. If he is your top rated player you had to pay the price.
- We still have an early and a mid 3rd if moving up to the 2nd is worth it
- Talent at WR, CB and S is deep enough to even get either of them with the 3.20 or the 4th and have a talented kid to develop in to a starting role in a couple of seasons
- Back to Bush, the guys has the sparq numbers, the football smarts, the leadership, the college stats and the down to earth personality to be an instant face of the franchise kind of player.
- Some consider Bush to be more instinctive than White and might end up being the better player, if the difference is one inch then that 40 vertical makes up for it.

We just got a possible top 5 talent if he develops correctly, how many drafts can we say we are even close to acquiring someone like that? and at a position of need to boot?

Let's savor this draft and offseason as the fire that ignited a new SB ring for the Steelers Franchise, salute the Nation.

For all those fans who think we overpaid for Devin Bush I'll throw this stat out there......In three years at Michigan Devin Bush missed a total of 11 tackles. The guy isn't flashy, he doesn't try to throw a shoulder into you to jar the ball loose. He just fundamentally goes up and make the tackle. Devin White on the other hand missed 12% of his tackles last season. Tackling is arguably the most important task of a LB'er and we got the best LB'er in the draft and IMO one of the best LB'ers coming out since Ray "The Knife" Lewis!
