How about something new

Watch old Cowher games until the coaches are bleary-eyed and go into a ball-control offense punctuated by the occasional play-action pass to keep the safeties honest. Brown is definitely enough of a threat that they have to account for him on every down no matter how committed we are to the run. They STILL have to keep a man and a half on him at least. That means a corner with safety help or a corner deep on him.

Pound Blount and Bell all day long, use Miller for blocking and release over the middle for quick outlet passes now and then. Basically your entire goal is to eat up 4, 5 and 6 yards a time and as much clock as you humanly can while tiring their defense out. Throw in a FB if you've got one that can block for **** and just pound on them for as long as you humanly can. Let the maulers maul. Keep at least one guy running a route on every down so you have a play-action audible in your pocket if you see something.

On defense, I'd hope somebody is looking at film to exploit a weakness somewhere to get consistent pressure on Luck to at least force him into uncomfortable situations. We need to force them to be patient while limiting their time on the field as much as possible. If they ARE going to score, make them do it slowly. Again, limit their ability to make big plays and draw out the game so we have the ball at the end if possible. While time management is absolutely NOT Tomlin's strength, I have more faith in our RB's ability to lock things up against a tired defense who's been worked all day against a grind-it-out offensive game plan.

pony backfield, LeBlunts can wreak havoc on those colts

Ok how many of you guys had anything in the game plan that was adopted. Pull up your post and take credit in front of the nation. Might be the guys read your posts and said hell lets just do all of that **** some of it could work!

Let Shazier cover RB or TE. Rush 4 or 5 on every pass play - no 1, 2 or 3 man rush. Won't work. Rush with Tuitt, Heyward, Kiesel, Harrison and Moats. Find a way to use Moats to rush the passer. Use McCullers on 1st down to stuff the running game. Put the Colts 2nd and long, or force them to throw 1st down. By having Tuitt, Heyward, Moats on the field on 1st down, rush the passer if Colts start throwing 1st and 10. One sack or one holding penalty can end a drive.

On offense, use Bell vs. a LB'er in the pass game. Stop throwing the ball 50 yards on 3rd and 1. Use Blount on short yardage to get the 1st. Try one deep pass to Bryant, who is a matchup problem for DB's. Feature AB, Bell and Miller in the passing game. Realize Wheaton right now is a non-factor. Don't run the ball out of the end zone on kickoffs when it is 9 freaking yards deep.

Oh, and defensive backs, TACKLE THE RECEIVER. No whiffs, failed arm tackles, where 5-yard gains become 20 yard gains.

Missed on Bryant's importance, the fact that every Steelers receiver - including Wheaton - was going to contribute, and that the Steelers sent 5, 6 and 7, not 4, 5 or 6.

Close enough.
