Can we trade ARTIE BURNS for...

This one baffles me. How did he go from "holding his own covering AB in practice" to "******** the bed on every play in games" just like that.

Coaching.

Stupidity is contagious, and our coaches are morons.

The more I read your stuff, the more I realized you don't know much.

Burns is at least a 4th CB on most teams, which is more than a 5th round pick would be. To put into a context you might understand, would you rather have Artie Burns at or Brian Allen? Allen I believe was a 5th round pick. His MIA during the season.

Heck, Marcus Allen was a 5th round pick for us last year, and he hardly saw the field. Burns has more value than him too.

With 31 teams out there, at least one would take Burns for a 5th round pick given his low cap number and demand for the position he plays.

lol coach, you're a funny dude, sometimes.

and here's footage of slash's reaction to reading the above post from you:

Artie lost his job to Coty Sensabaugh.

let that sink in.

his value is LESS than Sensabaugh's. LESS THAN. not even equal to. Less than.

we can trade him, but it wouldnt be for much more than a low 7th or conditional 6th. May as well hold on to him and see if his 3rd year proves to be an improvement.

actually, isn't he entering into his 4th season? he was a rookie in '16, right?

dammit. yes. so maybe he's a slow(er) learner? ****, that makes his value even less.

Coach, no one will cough up a fifth round pick for Artie Burnt Toast. Sorry! Wishful thinking but the other 31 teams saw saw his play too so why not wait to see if he gets cut then pick him up for nothing.

We coughed up a 6th round pick for a bum kicker. Just saying...

Exactly.

He is not that bad...….Burns is way that bad, he has done nothing since he arrived but get burnt. Why would anyone believe he is doing anything during off season when he hasn't to this date. Another bust first rounder, let he goooooooo.

I don't think it matters what he does in the off-season, he just ain't that good.

Why isn't he doing anything in the off season........................... I know coaches aren't to have contact but a low level somebody could be whispering into his ear... Other team coaching staffs I bet do it. I'm just saying that our coaching has been sub-par for so long that we don't expect anything above and beyond minimal input as far as coaching goes. This isn't an argument of Burnt toast but to a degree of expecting more out of the coaching as well. There is a reason why so many players are failing and part of that reasoning is coaching.

Salute the nation

So is Burns bad or not bad?

Kid has confidence issues for sure. Maybe he can salvage his career though.
Ike Taylor got benched by Cowher. His career took off after that.

Maybe his 6 kids and 12 siblings he takes care of is just a bit too much for the young man to handle along with having enough time to focus in on competing with NFL caliber talent.

At this point you may be able to swap him for another flawed player or if some GM has a surplus of jelly, maybe a 7th (which may even be a next year 7th).

Maybe we bundle Burns with Tomlin and ask for a pack of smokes, a pair of slightly used rose colored cool shades, and a big ol’ bag of popcorn [emoji897]!

*ahem* you better have meant a GI Joe "action figure", mister!

My bad. I had the full size "action figure" all decked out as a kid before they went small and cheap. He,Stretch Armstrong and The Hulk would do battle with Evel Knievel and his band of Army Men hunkered down in the Lincoln Log Fort.

....true story.

You might get a case of Iron City Beer for him but that's about it!

If we're thinking about giving ******* Dupree 9 million this season, then we almost have to give Burns one more season. He has to play man coverage, tell him you cover that guy right in front of you, that's when he's at his best, the zone and switch offs, that **** blows his mind.

Burns would do well under Bellicheck. I wouldn’t be surprised if he were cut tomorrow- NE would pick him up on the cheap and turn him into a descent corner. Something that Tomlin has failed to do with other young D-backs not named Joe Haden.

Aye! Never used properly in the black & gold

It’s what exit interviews are for. Feedback on both sides. Since the league rules on coaching contact in the offseason, they can get “homework” from their position coaches who identify what to work on. Playbook, techniques, and whatever else. It’s why some players go workout with those well known professional trainers in FL (Tom Ford) and CA (Marinovich’s complex). Working out with their peers helps. Players are encouraged to use the team’s training facility and staff, but for the life of me I don’t know why some don’t.

Too far with that one Fiji...

I applaud Artie for stepping up to be mom and dad.

Not sure if he even has kids...
