I know the answers that I'm going to get but maybe we can get a 5th rounder for him since we don't have a 5th round pick presently...

What say ye???

He's not that bad. He has lost pretty much all his confidence, but Ike was benched too. I give him one more year to get himself back in to SOME kind of form. If he can't do it - cut your losses. I think a big part of the problem is he may not know the playbook well enough to be just playing without overthinking things.

But I don't know. Maybe he really has simply lost it. He WASN'T this bad his first year or so.

This one baffles me. How did he go from "holding his own covering AB in practice" to "******** the bed on every play in games" just like that.

I'm a little cautious on this one. A part of me says keep him a part says don't let the door hit yaz where the good lord split yaz........... I would hope in the off season he trained very job specific on his needs. If you can't get an early 4th, then keep him into training camp to see what you got. Make sure one of the (sub) coaches is talking to him about his training and checking up on him and his progress. These little things are what this coaching staff needs to be doing and they probably are just we don't hear about it.

Salute the nation

At this point, he's too burnt out to get much in return

seriously maybe for a burned out player too, ideally an Edge player to compete with Ola

Yes, I think we can trade Burns for a 5th round pick. He's a low cap number guy, and this CB class isn't very good.

I agree. He overthinks and gets his eyes caught in the backfield. It’s a shame to see the a second kid with all of the potential to be a solid corner go to waste. Comes back to coaching imo

The more I read your stuff, the more I realized you don't know much.

Burns is at least a 4th CB on most teams, which is more than a 5th round pick would be. To put into a context you might understand, would you rather have Artie Burns at or Brian Allen? Allen I believe was a 5th round pick. His MIA during the season.

Heck, Marcus Allen was a 5th round pick for us last year, and he hardly saw the field. Burns has more value than him too.

With 31 teams out there, at least one would take Burns for a 5th round pick given his low cap number and demand for the position he plays.

I don't have to read any of your stuff to know you don't know ****.

I tell you what value he has. ZERO. He is a bust and the smart teams will wait until he is released to give him a try.

You don’t even know your own stuff. B. Allen participated in over 60% of the ST snaps in 6 games (approx 100 snaps) last year. M. Allen is a Safety, not a boundary CB.

What!?!?!? Artie played like a HS DB every game I watched him in this season. Seriously, when Sensabaugh had to take over on the outside - I knew we were in bad shape...

Low confidence come game time

There you go spouting off information w/o double checking your FACTS.

Since I started the thread - I definitely feel that Artie is expendable. Cameron Sutton played more than Artie this season and he was the preferred 4th DB. NO TEAM pays a 1st rounder to play on the 3rd string...

LOL.....A 5th.

Take anything for him via trade so you don't Dumblin/Dumbert his 5th year option for 8-10 million+ in 2020

Coach, no one will cough up a fifth round pick for Artie Burnt Toast. Sorry! Wishful thinking but the other 31 teams saw saw his play too so why not wait to see if he gets cut then pick him up for nothing.

Artie lost his job to Coty Sensabaugh.

let that sink in.

his value is LESS than Sensabaugh's. LESS THAN. not even equal to. Less than.

we can trade him, but it wouldnt be for much more than a low 7th or conditional 6th. May as well hold on to him and see if his 3rd year proves to be an improvement.
