I'll say this though, if i was a team without a QB, I would not be afraid of drafting a bust. If you do, you just move on. 10 years ago, being wrong on a 1st round QB would set you back years and if he was a top 5 pick it would screw your cap for years.
Guys like Stafford and Bradford were the highest paid guys in the NFL before they took a snap. You had to be damn sure on a guy to draft him high.
But now that they have the rookie cap, it's just a blip on the radar if a guy is a bust. Arizona drafted Rosen last year and cap-wise they can afford to draft another QB this year in the 1st if they don't like Rosen.
I would never draft Murray, but I can understand a team being aggressive and taking a chance.
I don't like Haskins either. He's not a QB. He's a thrower. He does have a great arm and can make all the throws but I don't think he's a pressure player.
As you said the money isn't the issue but the talent still is. So if you draft 2 bust QBs at the top of the draft then you are missing out on finding more talent at other positions. I know you can't win without a QB but to me Murray and Haskins aren't NFL Qbs. I didn't like Rosen last year but I understand teams are going to take a shot.
