Colin Kaepernick reaches settlement with NFL

I wonder why nobody believes that its probable the billionaires owners club did agree to black-ball Kap? On the more realistic side, i think the settlement is due to the NFL getting caught in their own bounty gate of sorts: https://www.si.com/nfl/2018/12/20/eric-reid-panthers-nfl-random-drug-testing. The odds that Reid would be "randomly" tested to that degree are ridiculous and such evidence would almost certainly demonstrate the bad faith needed in the collusion lawsuit. So, the NFL slit its own neck. ce la vie

It might be believable if guys like Michael Bennett and the many other kneelers were also out of work. All this proves is that if you can play, an NFL team will forgive anything.

There an old scouting saying. If Hannibal Lechter could run a 4.4 Forty, his scouting report would just say he has an eating disorder

Black ball him from what? Another offer for a 3rd string QB spot so he could turn that down because he felt he was a starter? He was given multiple opportunities to start and sucked prior to the incident. And, he was riding the bench when the incident happened. Then after the incident, he was given multiple offers to ride the bench by other teams and turned them down. That timetable alone is all the defense the NFL needed and this should have never gone to a court.

Speculation is that they settled for somewhere in the neighborhood of $60-$80 million. No wonder he doesn't feel like playing for the AAF..

He doesn't deserve anything anyone who disrespect 's the flag should be thrown out of the country people have died so he could make all that money the he did and he isn't worth a dime.

Sent from my SM-N900V using Steeler Nation mobile app

You know the players only started standing on the field during the national anthem after the NFL started to get paid for it. And all those half time shows in honor of our service members?...again the owners are getting paid. While I don't agree with the platform Kap used I understand why he did(and it had nothing to do with our service members). The owners are making money off of the patriotism of their fan base. Shameless.

This was about getting paid from the jump.
No way the NFL and owners would argue against any accusations based on anything that would include the word "race".
"Collusion" LOL, plaintiffs attorneys knew the outcome at the time of filing!

I believe they probably did collude against him. However if the lawsuit and the whole demonstration was about principle shouldn't the whole purpose of the lawsuit have been to get the information in open court.

It didn't, it settled out of court.

Salute the nation

I hope I never see or hear about this punk again.

Yep, the whole thing was and is bullshit. And people in here claiming the NFL was foolish for settling? No, its very smart. The last thing they want is for this stupid thing to get dragged on and on and for the owners to have **** about them thrown out in public that shows what ******** they can be. Whatever they paid him was chump change to them. It's good business sense. As for Kap, don't hand me this **** that no team wants him cause he sucks. You've got teams trotting out Case Keenum and Blake Bortles for sucks sake. The owners didn't want Kap because of the heat president numb nuts brought. That much is blatantly obvious.

I agree with your first 5 sentences, the last three not so much.

He was offered multiple contracts where he could have proved himself, you know, because he's so much better than Keenum or Bortles. The P&R forum is down the page, keep your political opinions out of the football forum.

My opinion of the NFL just sunk lower. Really making it hard to care enough to watch.

If you watch or support the NFL in any way then you re in effect paying Kap yourself.

BOYCOTT the NFL, even the terribly coached and managed Steelers.

You know, at first I wondered what impact one guy boycotting the NFL could have, then I watched this and am energized.

Hard being a die hard fanatic and then, not being one. Even though I know the NFL has its shady parts to it.

I find myself just trying to focus in on a game, or the draft, instead of the overall product.

That is the initial plan that is, as I sometimes fall short.

Hate to say it but if you bought a ticket for an NFL game in the past couple years, bought NFL merchandise or tuned in to watch your favorite NFL team, you/I helped pay for this bullshit....

He has no choice but to owe the community some monetary and "social" deeds.

You cwack me up on this one MTC.. ;)

Yeah...I have been a Steeler fan for over 50 years and find myself slipping away little by little. Too much non-football BS getting in the way of the game. The NFL has gotten the last dime from me , as much as I can control at least, but I can't just drop everything and walk away ( not yet anyway ).

I'll be watching next season just like all the others but now I don't pay for any TV packages ( thanks Cope ), I don't buy no NFL merch and I don't go to any games....sad **** huh ? Truth be told I don't have a lot of extra cash anyway, it all goes to a needy family member with serious health problems, so I guess I'm being a little disingenuous. How bout I say.." if I could I wouldn't huh ? "

I got this attitude...

Its nearly unfuckingbelievable that they paid his worthless *** anything but then you realize the NFL is full in for the agendas of the day club and it makes perfect sense. Another death notch on the NFL being any part of my future. I'm hanging by a thread of 47 years as a Steeler fanatic. That's it. The rest has become nauseating.
