Who
How 'bout putting the guy back in the proper position, where he's played his entire NFL career?
A lot of people want out of the circus evidently, coaches included. In Burnett's case he was signed to most likely be the starter at safety. Two things happened. 1. He was injured all the time. 2. Edmunds stepped in for him and established himself as the better player. Burnett wasn't good enough to take the spot away from him.
Who are the "lot" of people and especially the "coaches" that want out???
1.) Bell
2.) AB is still non-decided as we don't know what the **** he wants...
3.) Burnett asked to be let go due to position play
4.) MUNCHAK left on free accord as his contract expired and he wanted closure to family........
.....He would have stayed but family came first and can't blame him for that
To me a "lot" would be more than five for people and another five + for coaches as you seperated those two catagories and I count 2. By blowing this out of proportion I see thaT AS SIMILAR TO TALKING HEADS BLOWING THINGS OUT OF PROPORTION.................... Unless I'm missing some "want out" people / coaches please bring me up to date.
I'm just keeping this within reality so others don't keep the domino of adding greater / grander than what they've read to next statement.
Salute the nation
He moved from SS to FS then back to SS. So he didn't just play one position.
BTW who did you want to sit to put him at SS ? Edmunds? The rookie who stayed healthy and improves as the season went along?
I think you are reaching here.
Yeah, I'm talking about safety. Strong or free, Burnett's proved his flexibility for the Packers IN THE SECONDARY. Did he ever play linebacker before?
What, Edmunds is some kind of Godsend back there? What did you like the most? His bevy of missed tackles? His poor positioning? His bad angles to ballcarriers? Of course he improved from his first few games, because it would be hard to get any worse.
Evidently, Burnett is not happy with where he was playing, and contrary to some people saying it was somehow planned from the start, it clearly wasn't, or the guy wouldn't be asking out.
If they think Edmunds is so wonderful, move him to linebacker, and let Burnett play safety, where he is obviously much more comfortable.
Yeah you're right, the team is in perfect harmony. It's not actually a complete clusterfuck in the locker room. You must be content with having one of the best teams in the league that either misses the playoffs or gets knocked out in the Wild Card round. Whatever makes you feel better I guess. .

Take AB out of the equation and explain the rest of the circus in the locker room.

Imagine Burnett getting back from injury and taking the S spot, that means moving Edmunds to the hybrid role in dime package.I don't think he would have made the team next year anyway. They knew they were drafting a Safety high. They had Davis learning a new safety position. A veteran safety was a need. They probably did not plan on starting their rookie Safety.
Burnett got hurt and Edmunds was forced into action. By the time Burnett could play, Edmunds already had a bunch of starts. He was making mistakes but also getting better. He wasn't killing the defense. There was no reason to go back to Burnett.
At this point, this is like Heyward Bey saying he wants out.
Fixed it fer ya.He didn't workout, best to let him fly the coop. Bring in a upgrade this time Tombert.
How bow dat.
And that assertion is based on what?Bell and Harrison weeded themselves in the past two years, but they got away with murder before they left and caused all kinds of division. But guys like Munch and Burnett don't care when it's time to leave town because it's no longer the type of place where players are dying to get to.
Good catch, must have not looked at the spelling of that one. I usually give it a quick look. Not even sure he was really a underachiever. He showed signs of decline and injury concerns in GB. I just thought it was a questionable sign. Especially with moving a SS to FS. To a position Davis wasn't comfy with. And then we can talk about a scheme I strongly feel will be exposed when it matters by the better teams. Nothing points to that changing.Fixed it fer ya.
And yes, Burnett besides being hurt never full filled the role he was signed to do. Another overpaid underachiever.
Wtf, I thought it was clear this is the role they envisioned for him when they signed him, hybrid S/LB. Don't let the door hit ya'

Who’s Morgan Burnett?
A soon to be free agent SS that wasn't used properly and didn't look good in Black N Gold, obviously.
