Sources – Brown Requests Trade

What Brown did to me is unacceptable, and it's obvious he isn't a team guy. Reports say he wants to be traded.


Trading Brown would a $21 million dead-money salary-cap hit in the process. The Steelers currently have 28.6 million in cap space. However, as I understand it would also take Brown's cap number off the books in 2020 when he's due 18.3 million, and in 2021 when he's due to make 19.5 million, allowing the Steelers to make other moves in the future.


By or Sell. The Raiders offer their 4th overall pick and their 25th pick ( which can be later as this is a traded pick with a team in the playoffs ) for Brown. Would you take it?


This would give the Steelers three first round picks, with a mock draft that would look like


#4 ILB D. White or OLB Josh Allen
#20 DB Greedy Williams or DB DeAndre Baker
#25 WR Parris Campbell


Or they can trade down from the #4 spot and completely dominate the draft.


When you factor in Steelers would have this first round picks for 4-5 years at a very low cap number, its tempting.


Okay, I say do it. We might need to run the ball a bit more without him, but that would not necessarily be a bad thing.

I'll play your game.
First, yes we would incur a 21mil hit in dead money for 19/20. However, if you remove his base salaries from 19/20 (24mil), you actually expand the cap by about 3-4mil.
In FA, we should still be able to get a couple good players. I would go after RB (Giovanni Bernard or Duke Jackson).
Take a flier on Darby or Verrett since they will come cheap following injuries.
In the draft, I would trade the 4th and move down to 10 with Denver. I would get their #10 and #40, then do this:

1(10). - Devin White ILB
1(20). - Byron Murphy CB
1(25). - Montez Sweat OLB
2(40). - Noah Fant TE
2(52). - Deebo Samuel WR
3(84). - LilJordan Humphrey WR
 
Wouldn’t it be hilarious if they keep AB and deactivate him next year? A’la Keyshawn? Yeah, it’s petty and AB like....but he wouldn’t get his stats.

93 the fan is absolutely killing Tomlin right now. I think it is Mueller and Poni. Said Tomlin isn’t fit to be HC and really killing Art Rooney ll.

We'll see if AB shows for the Pro Bowl. I bet he does. He wouldn't want to miss the spotlight. That will make for some good press.

Steelers should refuse to give him equipment, let him wear a white helmet for the game...since he thinks he is above everyone else there, he can stand out all day long.
 
Trade his *** PLEASE so we don't have to another year of this crap. We didn't make the playoffs with Antonio and if we didn't make the playoffs next year and not have to go through this crap I would fine with that as long as we are taking steps in the right direction as a team.

We can get more than a #1 for Brown. Hell the Cowboys gave up a #1 for Cooper.

I didn't see the Tomlin press conference but from what I've heard, he didn't rule an AB trade out. Is that correct?

Cooper is 24, and had a contract that only averaged around 5 million per.

AB is what 30 and a much larger contract and the drama.

Correct, the question asked was along the lines of if behavior ever trumps on field production and he said certainly.
 
If the Jets would give up their first and second or Oakland gives up 2 of their #1's, I'd do it. You'd essentially be trading Brown for a rookie contract high draft pick.
Talk Fitzgerald into going for a Super Bowl and fix your defense with 4 picks in the first two rounds.
 
If I know Madden, he will blast AB and Tomlin for three hours today. He doesn't like AB anyway and this will push him over the anti-AB edge. He will be relentless. I'm not saying AB don't deserve it, either.

Pretty much this. He's crushing Aditi Kinkabwala too for blaming Ben for not praising AB enough. Calling her a fan girl. Also said her inside source is Heyward Bey.

LOL, of course it's Ben not babying AB enough, **** the guy is what 30??? Supposed to be the best WR in the NFL, but needs patted on the *** constantly.

Aditi excused Brown for acting the away he does because he grew up poor.
 
I would be open to more than a first after June 1st to spread the cap hit over a few years. Truth be told I dont believe they will win a title in the next year or two with Tomlin anyhow. This team needs an enima.
However, post June 1st would mean no draft pick until 2020. Could be important if Rudolph doesn't look like the guy. I'd take WR. At 1.20whatever to fill his spot and promote Juju to wr.1.

So he will play in the Pro Bowl but not with his teammates for a game that might get them into the playoffs?
