Harrison Blames Tomlin For 2018 Season; Discredits His Super Bowl Championship

Nobody outside that locker room knows if Tomlin has lost the team. Nobody. Pure speculation.

Whoever was coaching the team in 2008 is whose team it was when they won the Super Bowl. That is such a bullshit argument. It always has been. I borrowed my brother's shotgun the other day and hit 25 out of 25 shooting trap. I guess he hit 25 out of 25, using that logic.

Damn, and I could really care less if they fire the guy. I agree with the criticism of his coaching on the field and stuff. But this stupid ****...

Tis gonna get ugly in the locker room.
I think Tomlin has lost some respect from his players.

agree

0-9 last 9 chanllenges

dumbass doesnt know when to call timeouts

has one of the most talented teams and may not make the playoffs

too many brain farts

bradshaw, harrison, and others were so right about this ******* clown

Every yr tomlin has cost us at least one game with this stupid mistakes, so stupid to think all players on this team still respect him

Michael Tomlin should no longer be coaching this team. End of story.

Harrison comes off as a bitter former player who wants to make a name for himself in the media every time he appears on that show. You find ex-players who either go out of their way to distance themselves from their former teams or are complete homes. Credit to anyone who can take a balanced approach. However, there is NO arguing his comments about the defense. With that many high draft picks there is really no excuse to it performing so poorly.

Didn't get the impression that Harrison was "bitter," just sounded like he wanted a straight answer from Tomlin, and didn't get one. And the fact that James went to Rooney himself to inquire about his situation -- and was told that Tomlin assured Rooney that there was indeed a plan -- speaks volumes about the situation.

Strange that all the other players were ok talking about Harrison but now people get pissed when Harrison talks about what happened. Maybe if Tomlin were honest with the guy?

Also I find it interesting that Sharpe and Harrison both think that Tomlin lost the team. I read part of an article that talks about Tomlin laying down the law to the coaches and players about being at the stadium 2 hours before the game. Nobody did it. Not even the coaches showed up.

This isn't a Tomlin vs Harrison issue(at least in my opinion). Fire Tomlin tomorrow. Everyone will be happier, but **** Harrison. I don't give to ***** if Tomlin told/promised him one thing and things changed in Tomlin view. In the end Harrison quit on the TEAM. **** him.

Harrison is right. I wonder what Hines Ward would say? Tomlin has legendary Steelers from the '70s and '80s, plus currently retired greats speaking out against him. Does any other active head coach have this?

What other team has all time greats with such high expectations year in and year out? We are in a unique situation, it's rare that we field a team that doesn't have legit super bowl aspirations. Most teams, outside of the cheaters, have that literally year in, year out. So quit trying to compare us with other teams.

We get it, you hate Tomlin, you think you're smarter than everyone here, everyone in the FO, scouting dept, etc...

Maybe not out in the open, but I'm sure a ton of players don't have nice things to say about coaches.

This is what I got after reading about the situation a third time

Which is like reason #1014 why Tomin needs to go. Just avoiding losing seasons is not good enough for this franchise. At least it should not be, given its history.

Many other coaches won super bowls in Tomlin's tenure are free from harsh talk from their past legends! How many of them have their best past players ripping the head coach? You tell me??? A non reply on this question tells me everything.

That's wonderful insight James, now give me something that hasn't been floating around the internet for 8 years now. This guy flourished under Tomlin once he cut ties with Porter. We all know Tomlin has huge issues, but this guy has offered nothing of value or fresh in his criticisms. Fox drags him out for click bait every now and then. Yawn.

Tomlin has tarnished the legacy of high expectations for the Steelers, and a lot of us don't expect much under his leadership. Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result - you know what they call that..

There is nothing wrong with a former player telling fans what happened when he was with the organization. If trash comes out from another team people on here will take it as gospel... especially if it comes from the pats*****. But several former players have had issues with Tomlin and Harrison is just telling his side of the story. Nobody had issues with Harrison not being used by Tomlin. Nobody had issues with Harrison being cut. They only had issues when he says things they don't like or when he went to the pats****. Don't want him to go to the pats****... how about NOT cutting him? How about not lying right to his face? Hell Tomlin even lied to Rooney.

Harrison wasn't just talking **** that happened 8 years ago. Unless you only listened to part of the interview. He was talking about last year and even this year.

You answered your own question...he hasn’t said anything. What about Blount suing Noll? Lambert holding out? Bradshaw and his various tryst with Chuck. Heck he even passed on his funeral...what does all that say? Legendary from the 70’s and 80’s? Who?

Rock has a book coming out, he’s getting his publicity in as any writer would do. Brad is Brad. We know his history with Pittsburgh as a whole. Harrison has/had an issue with Tomlin whatever it is/was. He’s getting paid to flame the proverbial fire in the media. Who else in the 70s and 80s?

Aaron Rodgers disagrees

None of them implied that Noll did a bad job of coaching.

Lambert holding out had nothing to do with Noll. Just like Bell holding out has nothing to do with Tomlin. Bradshaw wanted to be treated better by Noll. I understand that but Chuck did it his way. He won 4 championships and I don't care about personal relationships between coaches and players. This isn't the issue with Tomlin either.

Also we know exactly what Harrison's issues are with Tomlin. He's said so many times. Tomlin lied to his face. Tomlin lied to Rooney's face. Tomlin would tell him he was playing, he would practice all week and he would be de-activated on game days. He said it happened over and over. He went to Rooney about it and Rooney said that Tomlin told him he had a plan for him. But he didn't. He was stringing him along and lying to him. That's what Harrison has against Tomlin. It isn't a personal conflict, it's a football conflict.

I listened to Chris Carter blather on never once saying that Tomlin might be the problem. Just that they threw the ball too much. At least Harrison and Horse face Shannon Sharpe put the blame where it belongs.

You answering a question with a question tells me all I need to know about your drivel.

Coaches that have won a super bowl since the start of Tomlin's tenure:

Tony Dungy (not active)
Tom Coughlin (not active coach) but has MANY players speak out WHILE HE WAS COACHING. Strahan being a big one at the time.
Sean Payton - has one of the best QB's to ever play the game and has a similar record and playoff results as our very own Mike Tomlin
Mike McCarthy (fired this year) Aaron Rogers threw him under the bus
John Harbaugh (was on the hot seat until he benched Flacco) Was called out by several players on sticking with Flacco
Pete Carrol - still hasn't lived down the goal line play, was called out by just about everyone on the offense besides Wilson
Bill Belicheck
Gary Kubiak (stepped down)
Doug Perderson - has faced massive scrutiny this year

The issue is, you don't follow those teams as closely as you do the Steelers (your supposed favorite team) so you aren't going to hear the same things you are hearing from the Pittsburgh media. But it's not hard to find out, google is this amazing invention available to anyone with internet access.

And even with all the scrutiny these coaches have faced, none of those franchises have been in the position the Steelers have for as long as we have been. The Saints were perennial losers, the Eagles won the first EVER super bowl last year, the Seahawks were like the Saints, The Colts didn't do much before or since Manning. We don't need to address the Patriots...

They all know it. Some just won't say it. They know they could give the talent on this team to a good coach and they'd easily be in the playoffs.

We heard this all last year. There's nothing new here other than him now saying Tomlin won with Cowher teams, which has been message board fodder for years. Thanks James, we get it.

Yes, not 8 years ago like you posted. But I'm sure you never talk about things said or done last year right? Especially things talked about before? Harrison was asked several questions he answered them. He went into more detail and explain himself well. Nothing wrong with what he did and I'm glad he said it.
