Coach's anal cyst

He was foolish for doing the first time. Ref's can be biased for those who speak up against them. The Steelers seem to be on the short end of the stick more often than not.

Its impossible to prove, but I think Tomlin's mouth made his team a more visible target.

Oh BS Coach. Tomlin is on the competition committee. All the coaches know the head officials. They deal with them all the time and know them for years. Players...that’s a different story. Officials will tell head coaches the short leash a player has.

Bill Parcells was the hardest on officials in our era. He wasn’t a target.

That's great, I'll invite Tomlin to my wife's next book club meeting. I don't think anyone cares if he's read 1 book or 10,000. I just want him to be a good coach.

I don't care if he's read books, gets his toenails painted, dresses up like a leprechaun or has a stamp collection. Just coach well.
Who married you???

This will due.

https://www.active.com/football/articles/football-101-guide-for-beginners

One day, I'd like a press pass after a game to ask Tomlin questions.

Hey Coach Tomlin, why pass it on 1st and goal, when you have a timeout and want to spend some clock time late in the fourth quarter? Wouldn't a run with James Conner lead by Nix have been a better call given the circumstance? Those fade routes are tough to complete.

On 2nd down and goal why throw it short over the middle where the defenders are packed in? That cost Seattle the Super Bowl and your predecessor an AFC championship game.
No one is going to talk about your spelling. Fcuk it, I am... "this will DUE"

I'm okay with Cowherd. He builds his own case and commutates in well in a 5 minute segment. What he says about Tomlin is spot on. Hate him if you must.

Once again, it’s not about assigning credit for this play and not assigning credit for that play. It’s about recognizing your opponents tendencies which in this case was their knack for blocking kicks. Coaches have to make sure their team is as prepared as they possibly can. These blocked kicks had been on film made by the same player and I’m saying that’s part of preparations provided from your coach.
Look, one of the biggest issues with this team is inconsistency which breeds from not being prepared. Something as basic as a FG block may have been the difference in this game.
That fake FG was not put in for the Broncos. That play has been in the playbook from day one to be used at coach’s discretion.

Wow.

Yeah, the fake was at the coaches' discretion to use, they decided Denver was a good candidate, and it worked flawlessly. That's the definition of good preparation -- precisely my point. Do you think the coaches simply pulled the timing out of their ***? Think they flipped a coin and said "OK, boys, this is the week we gonna break out the fake!"? Or is it more likely (just maybe) that they discovered through film study that the Broncos, in particular, had a tendency to leave an eligible receiver wide open on field goal attempts?

I suppose you can go ahead and continue saying the same thing over and over again about the blocked field goal if you want to, even though I've agreed to that point several times already.

Why do some of you always feel like you have to argue over people’s observations and evaluations. I mean a debate is one thing but some of you seem to always take it too far. Please stop trying to over analyze these things. And why do some of you always seem to add the condescending tone to your posts.
The fake FG was used because it was the right time to try it. It wasn’t anything Denver did or did not do, it was a good time trailing by 7 and a chance to tie it up. The play could be used again the next five weeks but won’t have anything to do with what Steelers see
against their opponent. These trick plays are installed long ago and are always an option. Just like the play where Brown threw the ****** pass that didn’t work. It’s a play in their playbook that’s an option. They used like the fake FG to try and
catch the opponent off guard, that’s all. You give these guys entirely too much credit. They aren’t that intelligent to be playing chess games against each other. Theyre fake plays, everyone has them and they us them to catch the other team off guard. That’s all there is to it.
My original point was this team under this HC simply does not prepare well. It’s as though the mindset is we have the better talent and we will out perform you but then preparation seems to always be lacking. The fake FG was used to catch them off guard and it worked. It was a good decision since it did work. The blocked kick was not having the ST prepared. The guy that blocked the kick leeped over center and he’s done that this season and it’s on tape. Should we not know that? Wouldn’t that have helped to know so we could have prevented it? That’s my point, we were not prepared for it.

So you don't feel some of us should have to argue over people’s observations and evaluations, then shortly thereafter, you proceed to write 11 sentences arguing how your observation/evaluation is the correct one, and "that's all there is to it." I guess some of us doesn't include you.

You're a flaming hypocrite, but at least you're polite about it -- I'll give you that.

I said some of you and btw as I’ve noticed over the years it seems to be you for the most part, are the argumentative type.
You read others post and concoct your own understanding of it. I had said that some always argue and that there’s a difference between that and a debate.
That you have to speak in a condescending tone and as though your observation is correct and the other persons‘ has no validity.
Most around here are respectful when replying and that’s one of the reasons I keep coming back as a contributor, but you I’ve noticed don’t seem to know how to respond without being rude. I don’t need to be told that I thought they flipped a coin to make a decision. You see that tone just ruins the debate and turns it into something else. Pull your act with others but please not with me.

And I never said my opinion was the correct one and all others are wrong. That was just as I see it and based on my experiences know that these are plays that most teams have in their playbooks. Somewhere I said it was a good decision because it worked but mainly the blocked kick was not being prepared which started all this. That the player making the block jumping over center had done this to other teams during the season. Hell, even the color commentary announcer working the game said as much that there was tape of what this player had been doing. Meaning the Steelers should have been aware.

The blocked kick was illegal. Nothing the coaches can prepare for, if they are going to force the LS down so someone can jump over him.

I do think the blocked kick was a factor in the fake FG. Also, the timing here, most teams are preparing to sell out to stop points before the end of a half/game. So going for the block is most likely in these situations.

Denver was confident, and the Steelers caught them. Though they did a good job covering the other 2 receivers, No one accounted for the inline tackle though. Beautiful play call at the right time!

Look, pal, I didn't "concoct" anything. All I originally asked you is didn't you think that the coaches deserved some credit for the success of the fake field goal along with the blame for the block (which I agreed about with you from the very start, yet you continue to argue your point time and again to no one in particular), and you somehow turned a perfectly civil debate into a winding discourse about the nature of my posting habits and how they somehow affect your wellness quotient.

Yes, the truth is I can get somewhat nasty with people, but that happens very uncommonly these days, and almost always only when I am provoked. And, fortunately for you, as I mentioned earlier, I've had no reason to take it to that level, because you've been fairly polite in this thread. However, since you've felt the need in the above post to put me down directly, here's my response:

I'm so sorry that my earlier comments made your little ***** hurt.

See, now I've said something that actually is condescending, rude, argumentative, and disrespectful! OMG!

You won't give credit where credit is due, fine. Great. The fake field goal had nothing to do with Denver. Whatever. The ironic part of all of this is I'm with you about Tomlin and his staff not preparing properly, probably about 95% of the time, but not in this particular case.

Just please, for the love of God, stop whining about it.

There you go again with your mouth hiding behind a keyboard spewing insults. I don’t engage in that sort of garbage insulting someone. I just said you are condescending, talking down to me, never calling you a name or making a smart remark like you just did. Don’t reply to my posts in the future and troll someone else. This was never about giving credit but only about not being prepared but you made it so much more.

Guess you couldn't just stop whining about it.

Hiding behind a keyboard? I made it so much more? LOL. Nooo, you didn't insult me...just called me condescending, rude, argumentative, and disrespectful. No insults there, right?

Tell you what, vaghurt, if you want to see people spewing insults, condescension, talking down, name-calling, smart remarks, and garbage, I suggest you go read the This game is on Tomlin!!!! thread. There's 24 pages of a lot worse **** than the babying I gave you here.

And make sure you have your industrial-size box of tissues nearby, just in case you read something offensive. Punk.

Telling you that your tone is condescending and argumentative is not calling you foul names like you’re doing to me. I don’t resort to those tactics. And you’re insinuation that I’m a vaghurt whatever the hell that is and calling me a punk goes way past telling someone their condescending, argumentative or rude. You’re doing no better than the thread you refer to which I’m aware of where the poster starts bringing someone’s family member into the trash talk.
This board is better than this name calling all over not seeing eye to eye on something. I don’t care if you disagree with me that’s your prerogative. But the name calling I just don’t get some of you guys that always have to resort to that.

Some moderator actually changed the title of this thread to Coach's anal cyst, but calling you a punk is foul. Got it.

Whatever you say, vaghurt.

p.s. "vaghurt" is a play on your screen name, indicating pain in your vaginal area. :)

Getting a little preachy there, Bud. Stick to your own drama and don't try defining this board for us.

Not trying to. I don’t call others foul names and would expect same courtesy, that’s all. I don’t think name calling by anyone on this board is the proper way for one to act. If we disagree with one another, fine, disagree. But when insults have to be inserted in the post, to me thats just not right. Moderators should not tolerate it. My opinion!

I have to admit Hurt is asking pretty nicely, nicer than I would be..

Some can handle back n forth names. I can take it all, just leave my family out of it.

But for those who don't call names and prefer you not to back.

I don't see that as a unreasonable request.

Our team has gotten us testy. Those ******* need to get back to winning..

That’s all I’m saying Slash. He can disagree with me that’s his right, but then he starts throwing out the name calling because I said he was speaking to me in a condescending, argumentative and rude tone but that’s not taking shots at his screen name or calling him a punk.
I don’t have anything against the guy or his posts. Hell I don’t even know him. I just don’t get the name calling.

Totally get it. Just quit implying that this board is too classy for personal insults. I am offended by that. That said, I can't see a situation where I would call you any names.

Nice sig, by the way.

Hahahaha, it did get out of hand. But the game, well that was of epic proportions. I’m supposed to be traveling up to my hometown for the Pats game but lately not feeling it with this team. I go to two games every season; went to the Atlanta game. They seem to always win when I go so I better go to this one.
