Coach's anal cyst

He said it was college reading. Unless Tomlin's college didn't go over the book.

He said Tomlin was:"One of the most well-read individuals in football". I have no idea how to justify or ascertain that. Seriously, can you name one book that any coach in the NFL has read with certainty? I can't. Like I said, I can't even name all the NFL coaches and I don't care how well versed on the NFL, I have a hard time believing that someone knows the reading habits of any NFL coach.

Cooch - you watched the game. I assume you even recorded it, as I believe you've said you do from time to time.
no, you watch from a bar.

anyway, we ran just 16 times to make the defense at least a bit more honest. Conner in the backfield was chipping Miller or Chubb when he wasnt outright helping block the two of them (whichever side he was called on to assist).

While complaining about the number of times B-INT-jamin threw the ball and prognosticating that it would lead to more INTs, twice this season Ben has thrown 55+ times in a game.
Week 2, KC. 60 attempts, 0 INT
Week 12, Den. 56 attempts, 2 INTs.

By my math, and even with Common Core, that's 116 attempts and 2 picks. 1.72% of his passes are INTs when he throws 55 times or more.

Still, I put this game on Ben. Specifically for the final INT.

My comments during the live action can be read in the game day thread.

Using your math that pretty much means we are turning the ball over twice viainterception when Ben throws it 55 times or more. Heck hethrew it 47 times vs the Jaguars and was picked three times. Before that he threw it 41 times vs the browns and was picked 3times. When Ben throws it 40 or more times, re-do themath.

If the Defense could get an interception or two back, that's a different story. They can't sometimes with gift throws from crappy QB's.

Regarding the Denver game, I think Ben played well except for the lastthrow. For openers the call should have been a run first, put in nix andlet Conner either follow him or cut. We either score of drain theclock. That is on the coaches.

Throwing a fade route, which is tough to complete is Todd Haley crap! Benshould know F'N better. NEVER throw it over the middle near the goal line, as badthings happen / too many people are in that area. A painful lesson, Ihope he learned. That's how Seattle lost the super bowl to the New Englandcheaters. Ya want more pain to illustrate my point? Okay itsalso how we lost a very painful AFC championship game to theChargers.

This loss pissed me off. We lose to a team with a losing record, and beatourselves. I think our mojo is damaged, and while I expect a playoffappearance, I do not have faith in a playoff win at this point in time. Our next game is a dress rehearsal for the playoffs. A losstells me everything, as I can't see us beating NE or KC.

Are you saying you don't want to put the ball in the hands of our best offensive player? In general, you might want more balance, but when you are converting those passes and keeping the ball moving, why would you stop? Oh, wait, so you can ***** about going to "turtle ball"?

In the first quarter, Ben was 64% completion (9 of 14). Second quarter, Ben was 89% (16 of 18). At that point, no int's. And you want to take the ball out of his hands?

Fast forward to the end of the game.

I think Ben played well except for thelast throw. For openers the call should have been a run first, put in Nixand let Conner either follow him or cut. We either score of drain theclock. Are you with me? That is on the coaches. Throwing an incomplete pass without running the clock is the worst.

So to answer you question, I know Conner can get 2 yards and the chances of a mistake with him are less. We could have tired this twice, and threw it on downs 3 nd 4 if needed.

With a time out, this should have been the call, so in this circumstance, Yes have Ben give the ball to someone else.

Let’s do fast forward.

You say the call should have been a run first. Well, genius it was. It was going to be a delayed fake pass run off the pulling tackle. If you watch film as you say you do, you would see the line pushing forward from the snap. Al and Foster was getting forward momentum. I think Al had his guy in the EZ. Pouncey blew his guy so far back it allowed him to be in position for the pass. The low snap causes the timing to have Ben elect to pass it instead. If there was a smooth snap, Conner was going in on the left side easily. I’m surprised you aren’t drilling Pouncey, your usual MO.

Are you with us? The play was called, Ben improvised. You implying the coaches called for the bad snap and the improvised throw by Ben. In all likely hood the pass to JuJu was a set up play for the run to spread out the defense right. AB was running from left to right and carrying his man opposite of the running lane.

You continue to push the coaching is lousy agenda, when you don’t even know what you are talking about.

You’ve said in another post you are behind this team and want them to win. In actuality you want this team to fail so you can go back to griping about “coaching has caused all the failures. All part of your agenda. You will never be content until the coaching staff is gone.

Not really I could bury Tomlin with his quotes if I choose, and seeing that you like the Tzu, that puts you in some mild conflict.

Am I wrong to assume you don't think we should have more of a pass to run balance? I think you pretty much agree with me, but you can clarify if you think throwing it 56 times and running it 16 in a close game is good strategy for us.

When I heard we passed 56 times and ran 16 I was astonished.

Do you realize there is something between "taking the football out of his hands" vs. throwing it 56 times? When you throw it that much, bad things happen.

Coach's analysis.

What lost the game were four huge plays:
Grimble being an idiot for not slicing in from the 2 or three yard line rather than take a direct hit on the ball trying to out muscle the safety.
Washington who better fix his game or he’ll be known as Washedupton sooner than later. That had TD written all over it.
Connor who killed a great drive with a careless fumble on the Denver 22 by not securing the ball,
And poor preparation for not being aware of the Broncos penchant for blocking kicks. It’s in their previous game film and it’s up to Tomlin and Danny Smith to know these things,
That’s at least 20 points with potential for 28 points.
Second int never even happens. First one shouldn’t have either if the big ******* baby Brown doesn’t quit on the route. With Washington’s catch he should have made that gives Ben another 500 yards and three TD’s.

At this point, I'd rather have the extra TE instead of Washington. Can keep that TE in to block or run a pattern, with Ben audible to that at the line.

I agree throwing to Washington is wasting plays right now. Is he in there to stretch the field? If so, who else do we have that can do that? DHB?

How did you feel when Billicheat got caught in his second act of cheating but never got banned for life???????

Salute the nation

When he is throwing as well as he was, you let him keep going

Tomlin called himself a bookworm and a bibliophile. It was news when he was hired. You wonder where his lexicon comes from? Reading.

If you're going to condemn the coaches for a blocked field goal and losing 3 points, don't you also need to credit those same coaches for the successful fake field goal and adding 4 points?

Te’s don’t open up the D, they need to back off safeties... they need a speed deep threat...

Also our TE position had an injury and fumble that game...

I think people are giving up on Washington way to early. I still think he will be an important part f this team this year.

I don't think he will this year, next year could be much more productive.

I thought AB and Ju Ju posed some deep threat potential?

That's great, I'll invite Tomlin to my wife's next book club meeting. I don't think anyone cares if he's read 1 book or 10,000. I just want him to be a good coach.

I don't care if he's read books, gets his toenails painted, dresses up like a leprechaun or has a stamp collection. Just coach well.

It is just conversation, stop being a ******** lameLinda.

Nobody cares what you think.

Soak that in,

I say you keep Washington active moving forward. Your ******* vets need to make plays. Positive that is. Not these ******* TO's. Washington will be part of our future. Keep giving some reps. As far as our run/pass ratio. I think Ben's finger might have something to do with that. One more thing. Our defense needs to start creating some TO's themselves. Seems like they are on a 5 plus year drought.
