The coaching staff and specifically Tomlin had some great calls this game that I think some are overlooking.
-Accepting the holding penalty that would've resulted in 4th and short for the Jags and instead forced them to pass and ALMOST resulted in a huge turnover but still got a sack and changed field position. Ballsy call that most coaches wouldn't make.
-Not benching Ben like some arm chair coaches would've liked. The result speaks for itself. Ben is like a top 3 point shooter who misses 15 in a row but you still want him taking a 16th shot with the game on the line. If you haven't realized that by now, it's hopeless for you.
-Kicking deep with 2:30 left. Yes we had 3 timeouts but I've seen plenty of coaches onside kick there which would have given the O a much longer field to work with at the end.
-Seems like Butler made some adjustments to stop the run in the 2nd half. It's very refreshing to see some defensive adjustments the last few games and it was definitely a big reason the D was able to force 4 straight 3 and outs at the end.
-Time management is not always perfect but it nearly was today. The only blunder being the wasted timeout on the first drive and then calling a half assed QB sneak. But after that, the O had 2 extra possessions at the end of the first half and any time you score the winning points with less than 10 seconds left is a great thing. They seemed to handle the end of the game without panicking and calling a TO too quick which I've seen in the past. They still had another play from inside the 1 if Ben didn't get in on the last play due to having a TO in their pocket.
Tomlin claims there was no adjustments made on D.
