I'm completely over this guy. He has no spot on this team as far as I'm concerned. Let him sign his tender and trade him, or rescind the tag as long as we get a compensatory pick in free agency.

With the extra cap space, available by not re-signing Bell, the Steelers have room to sign an A-list free agent. Patrick Peterson, for example, would turn a weakness at cornerback into a strength, giving the Steelers two near shut down level cornerbacks, which will allow for better blitzing options. Just imagine who good the defense would be if a Pro bowl type of Cornerback replaced Burns. That would be AMAZING.

Conner is the real deal, you don't rush for 100 yards three times without having some talent. On the other games, getting down 14-0 or 21-0 limited Conner's attempts, plus the OL was banged up.

Conner's ability to catch the ball is just as good as Bell's, and he has better speed and power to hit a big play. The big surprise to me is Conner's ability to make a defender miss him. He leads the NFL in this category. I think we have a top ten NFL running back, signed for cheap.

2018 Stats:

Conner 4.4 yards per rush, 9.9 yards per catch. Both exceed Bell's 2017 4.0 yards per rush and 7.7 yards per catch.

while your post is chock full of misguided assumptions, I will agree that Bell doesnt have a place on this team. I can only hope we have a handshake agreement to trade him before the ink is dry on his signature.

coach I feel like throwing something at you.

We don't get **** if they remove the tag. Write this down on duct tape and put it on your forehead. And below it write we can't trade Bell before he signs his tag, for when you forget that too..

In top game shape Bell could have possibly contributed to make the Clowns tie a W? Or perhaps more TOP in the KC & Rats games?

I'm starting three before lunch.

1) when do we expect Bell?

2) does Bell bring some of his Miami hoes to the Burgh?

3) has anyone picked up Bell's Rap CD yet?

4) My Jet ski can beat your Jet ski, does this bathing suit make Bell look fat?

5) I was right, one of these times honest.

6) Draft predictions for dummies: how to evaluate players without watching game tape.

7) Youtube highlights VS my hair highlights, which one would Mike Mayock choose? My opinion will be based off of whatever he chooses.

8) When Ed OLiver gets picked, my top 10 things to do while I am on vacation.

9) Can we trade Bell right now?

10) Why not?

and the most obvious:

Can we trade Bell, CMT, Fu and Carnell LAke to the Cardnials for Patrick Peterson?

Sweeten it with Burns and a 4th & conditional pick (7th) see if that gets yaz close.

Salute the nation

11) For whom the Bell tolls, time matches on.
12) To Bell or not to Bell that is the question .
13) Can we start a go fund me page for Bell on his 855,000 dollar a game loss. Over 5 million now. Let's all pitch in.
14) Just sit it out Bell and start new next year with a tag that is transitioning .

Would you bet your family truckster on that? Pro Football Talk reported that if the Steelers pull the tag, they will in fact get a compensatory pick for losing him in free agency. Here's your chance to shine by clarifying the rules!

As Conner continues to shine, Bell's future with this team diminishes.

The word on the street is Bell will sign after 4:00 pm after October 30th because he doesn’t want to be traded. I’d pull his tag save the 14.5 million for resigning other players and or signing a free agent. We’d lose the comp pick but it maxes out at a third round pick so who cares.

However, he also writes per the “extensive knowledge” source that the team would actually not be in line for a compensatory pick with the loss of Bell in 2018 because of the signings of Morgan Burnett and Jon Bostic, the only significant loss being Chris Hubbard.

We went over this already. Even in the article it mentions why we wouldn't get anything.

That depends on the money he gets and who the Steelers lose in free agency. For example Bell gets 17 million from another team and we spent a lot less in free agency, my understanding we will get something.

I prefer the trade 1st if possible. I'm fine with pulling the tag 2nd, allowing us to sign say Patrick Peterson.

Only way I pull the tag is if Peterson is locked in.

No Coach, It's a sham article with no basis in the NFLPA agreement. It makes no sense, it's wildly speculative, and it creates unfounded circumstances that aren't covered by the agreement in which all contracts and compensation are formed.

Even the article you referenced doesn't believe the PFT bunk it was based on. Stop posting fake news!

Now your thinking! This can happen. Peterson's cap number for the season is $14,956,966 in 2018 and just $11,884,588 in 2019 and $13,184,589 in 2020.

Top CB's are very expensive in free agency, at age 28, he's got a lot left. Burns as a free agent will probably net 3-4 million a year, thanks to the demand at his positon and age.

That is fine, I asked if someone can post the rules that show an unsigned player can not be part of a compensatory pick.

Either way, there is a lot we can do with the cap space. Bell has been outcast from the OL. Did you see the social media replies? He's expensive, and drug risk. Also over rated if you ask me.

I'd broom him now if we can get Peterson.

No, I did not.

The comp pick depends on the net amount lost or gained in free agency, correct. If we got a comp pick for Bell, we lose far more than what we paid for in free agency. That is my understanding on the issue.
