Berry had 3 bad punts in the first two games.
He had 3 punts in the first game. one for 59, one for 42 (from the 45, so short was good) and one for 24
In the GB game he also had punts of 58, 65 and 56 yards along with the two terrible shanks.Seems like the leg is there.
TN first punt only goes for 35yards. But it was from the 43, so downed at the 8. Makes his average look bad, but was a good punt. Second punt 52 yards.
That game, Wile punts from the Pit 16 (58 yards), the Pit 43 (41 yards) and the Pit 36 (47 yards). Not one punt on the TN side of the field.
Last night, Berry punts once from the 50. 36 yards. Could have been better, but puts Carolina inside the 20, so doesn't suck.
Wile punts from the pit 15 (50 yards) and from the Pit 25 (46 yards)
Wile has one kick from inside the opponents territory. PHI 48 yard line.
Berry may have some warts, but, when you have to punt inside the opponent's territory, he can keep it out of the endzone. We do not know if Wile can do that or not. Obviously, Berry can boot some nice ones, too,
As far as the run backs that mess up Berry's net, were those bigger ones due to poor hang-time or just ****** tackling? If his hang-time was poor, but there was a tackler right there, seems like hang-time is irrelevant.
Berry is inconsistent.
Wile had the same amount of punts inside the 20 with less overall attempts. Clearly Wile's leg and hang time are better. Wile is also a fine emergency kicker. I saw no difference at all as a holder for placekicks.
