Our best ever series as voted by Steeler Nation.

Roethlisberger. I've been lucky enough to watch a lot of great players in Pittsburgh, but even with Polamalu here, Roethlisberger has been the most fun to watch. He has done it all and would get a lot more credit if not for playing during an era that included Manning and Brady.

Being a defensive guy, I enjoyed watching Polamalu.
I remember the 90's somewhat, but Polamalu and his timed acrobatics were something to behold.
Not sure there will ever be another Troy for awhile

He's second on my list. Amazing we got to watch these guys play on the same team.

Pretty much agree with the RB list.

But no love for Bam or Abercrombie?

Did you know that when Hoak retired as a player, he was second in Steeler history only to John Henry in yards? How times have changed.

If it wasn't for a trunk full of weed, Bam might have been thought about way more often.

For QB's I'd have to go with this list:

1. Roethlisberger
2. Bradshaw
3. O'Donnell
4. Stewart
5. Bubby Brister

The top ten all time Steeler receivers.

This won’t be easy.

1 ) Brown. His work in his first 100 games is comparable to Jerry Rice’s. Ultra quick, with hands of glue, and RAC ability.

2 ) Stallworth. Some of his best work came post Bradshaw with mediocre quarterbacks, he was that good

3 ) Ward. Simply clutch, and one heck of a blocker. An iron man like durability.

4 ) Swann. Retired young, and played at a time when rules didn’t factor passing, he shined in the post season.

5 ) Lipps. A big play specialist, who was stuck with very average quarterbacks

6 ) Wallace. Only a Steeler for 4 years, Wallace lit up the NFL with big plays. A pity he took the money in free agency. Should have 10,000 yards when he retires

7 ) Holmes. A disappointment after the super bowl victory, fans will never forget that catch!

8 ) Dial. I did not see him play, but he’s still 8th all time on our receiving yards list with a eye opening 21.6 yards per catch

9 ) Burress. Like Wallace he was only here for a short while ( five seasons )

10 ) Thigpen Had two 1,000 yards seasons with the Steelers.

Honorable mention: Johnson, Nickel

Where's Limas?

On the Bag Of Dicks list with Lupe Sanchez, Kent Graham, and Harvey Clayton.

Just for fun I propose an optional additional list called the Bag Of Dicks with the worst 3 to 5 players at each position.

He's #1 on the WR biggest busts lists.

Troy Edwards says hi.

I lower Sweed some due to they didn't target him in 1. You expect a second rounder to have a higher bust rate than a 1st.

The only thing Terry had over Ben is arm strength, imho. TB had a ******* cannon arm. Ben is superior on all other fronts.

This is one of my best ever series. Henderson had just messed with Bradshaw and Harris was pissed. You can sense the red *** in this run.

I don't know about that. Clearly Bradshaw is the better actor. I'd also say Bradshaw is tougher and has 4 super bowl rings as a the winning quarterback.

Having said that, Ben > Terry.

The initial "WEED" was found under the E-brake lever cover. From what I heard.......................................................................................:rolleyes1:

I have it on good authority that Bam was one of those guys who played football simply because he was good at it and it paid well but he didn't really like it.

Aside from punter, Tight End is arguably the least talented Steelers position since the NFL-AFL merger. A possible reason as to why is scheme, and the overwhelming abundance of talent we have had through the years at Wide Receiver or Running back. However we have had our share of successful players at Tight end. Here’s my best five

1 ) Heath Miller. An easy pick. Miller was a rare all around tight end. A whale of a blocker with good hands Miller was also red zone threat. Miller is currently 4th all time on the Steelers receiving list. His catch per target is 71.8%, ahead of Browns’ ( 66.2% ) and Ward’s ( 64.2% ). Very durable and a leader. Voted team captain, a rarity for a tight end.

2 ) Cunningham. A good football player, flanked by great skill players, Cunningham didn’t get a lot of chances to shine during the Steelers championship years. He was however a big man with good speed, and solid hands who wasn’t easy to tackle. His 14.3 yards per catch remains a high water mark at the position,

3 ) Green. Green was only here for four years. A player with great potential, Green had issues with his playing weight and banned performance enhancement drugs.

4 ) Bruener. Bruner was only an adequate receiver. He made his name as an outstanding run blocker, capable of erasing the DE or OLB on many running plays.

5 ) Grossman. Undrafted, Grossman was part of the legendary 1974 rookie class. He had excellent hands, and was clutch when called upon. His touchdown catch in Super bowl X was the margin of victory over Dallas.

Agree.
1. Heath Miller
2. Bennie Cunningham. I’m old enough to remember him.
3. Eric Green. As I recall he was out injured a bit plus he gained a ****-ton of weight and wasn’t here that long.
4. Mark Bruner, good receiver as well as a blocker.
5. Randy Grossman. Small for a TE but played above average.

Bag Of Dicks
1. Ladarius Green
