Le’Veon Bell to Skip OTA’s

If Ben doesn't excel we can still win. If Ben completely ***** up (See Jax 1 and Jax 2), the team will have a hard time winning.

I will agree with Jax 1. jax 2 he threw for almost 500 yards and 5 TD and put up 42 points against one of the best defenses in the NFL. We lost that game because our swiss cheese defense got shredded by their run game and by the amazing Blake Bortles.

Team isn't one dimensional in any aspect of its O. You can take out any player and say they can still win.

And have shown that. Including Bell or Antonio not excelling one game.

I argue that spotting them 10+ points that didn't come from our D had just as much to do with it. as our D allowing them to score 31-35 points

I don't understand what you are saying.

I'm saying if Ben ***** up, we have a hard time winning. If Ben performs poorly, but not, really, ******* up, we can still win with others playing well.

In general, with Bell/Brown or anyone else is ******* up (while Ben isn't) we can still win.

BOTTOM LINE: We will win a lot more games if BELL is missing then if Ben is missing.

If bell is injured for six games and we go 5-1, now Ben is injured 6 games (same game consensus) I bet we win less than that. Hypothetical but more than likely true

pretty much what I meant.

Thing is they need the D to be better than what they were last year.

And I think they took the steps to be just that.

Our "D" will definately be improved is not just by addition by subtraction. Mitchell being gone can ONLY help. We brought in a couple of key pieces and drafted a versatile hybrid S/LB. I still think Colbert is working and looking and lurking for one more FA pick up and it will be for the "D". Good luck defense we are on the way to seven.......................!!!!

i hope the d is improved, but it depends on the scheme. i do not like constantly dropping our best pass rushers into coverage. i also hate the 2 DL package.
As for Bell i honestly believe the team will be fine without him. We would have to use 2-3 backs, but that's what most teams do anyways. We would also save money to upgrade elsewhere.

I really like having one back that doesn't have to come out of the game on passing downs. The downside of that, is that back is going to take a beating every year. Which may be part of Bell's impetus to get paid NOW.

Nah Bell is selfish for trying go get as much as he can in the one time he will be able to.. then again when he is 31 or 32 im sure he will be able to maximize his value again.

Some team will pay Bell crazy money next season..... just won't be the Steelers. And good for him and us.

And i have no problem with that at all..i was hoping we signed him back because what he brings to the table. And IMO we had no replacement for that whether by committee or not. But now i do think Samuels has that ability and you add Connors i think we can be ok. Would love to have Bell and Samuels longer then this year. I think they could give defenses fits as Samuels develops. But if Bell leaves Samuels and Connor can be very good also.. Samuels talents changes things IMO i think he is going to very good. I think he can do similar things as Bell..only IF to me is pass pro can he be Bell in that department? Same for Connor has his issues there improved? That is a very underrated taken for granted part of Bells game.
