If he signs his little slap in the face chump change he will have that money is his no matter what. He could blow out both knees. It's just a lame excuse to **** off while everyone else is working as a unit. I don't see any way the Steelers will buckle to a guy who won't even show up. Sign your ****,show up and make a deal or not. This would certainly be his last season in black&gold with another year of wear on those tires who's biggest run from scrimmage was What? 27 yards.. Can't drop that helmet anymore either.
He works out, he doesn't sit around eating cheetos and watching porn like the rest of us. The trade off is this, if injury is what you are, really, worried about:
1. He signs, works out with the team and gets hurt. Steelers cap dinged for $14m+
2. He doesn't sign, gets hurt working out. Steelers pull the tag and have $14m more in cap space, right?
I'm not sure what the real problem is. everyone is harping on the longest run of 27 yards as if that defines the whole season. Bell is on the field, the D MUST take notice. They aren't going to sit back and say "oh, he won't be full strength until game 4".
I already provided an analysis, more than once, of those who were considered top 3 or 4 RB going into the season. The others attended OTA's and camp and there was no significant difference in the first 3 or 4 games, overall, between them and Bell.
"But Ark, the rookies were getting 4+ ypc". Yeah, do that for 3+ seasons touching the ball more than anyone on your team, other than the QB, then let me know.
