I'd seriously look at Avery with our next pick if he's there. At this point, you don't expect a starter in year 1 or even year 2. So, he can heal, if needed, and maybe even be stashed on the PS for a year.
 
Marcus Allen may be the best pass coverage ILB prospect left. I think he'll be used as a hybrid LB/S. I'm shocked he lasted this long with so many teams now looking for that type of player.

I know Griffen is a great story but he's undersized and missing a hand is a big negative. It makes it much tougher to fight off blocks.

Seattle just spent 5th rounders on a guy who may have real issues making and impact and a Punter. The will be praised for the Griffen pick but i don't think it was a good football move.

It seems clear to me now that Seattle got totally lucky a few years ago when some late rounders like Sherman hit big for them and Wilson made plays. This team is headed down the tubes

Then bring in hybrid S/LB player in dime packages.

Maybe they never wanted to draft a strict ILB, or they simply didn't feel anyone worthy of a pick.
 
I hope Ejiofor or Okoronkwo are the pick. Both have extremely long arms and may be better than our current back-ups.

I could see them taking Lazard as well. Nearly 6'-5" with a 4.55 40 and plenty of quality production.

I'm firmly on the Tim Settle bandwagon, if he keeps sliding. I think he'd make our D better on early downs and vs. the run. I'd rotate him w Hargrave on passing downs. It would help Hargrave's game as well, as it would keep him fresh to rush the passer. Settle is far from a finished player, very young and malleable.

Maybe something's up with him, no way I thought he'd still be on the board.
 
The problem i have with allen is he seems to be like our first round pick except worse. I thought they would play Edmunds up at ILB, but now with allen in the mix not sure. I would have picked a deep center fielder safety not another hybrid player.

Agree. That's how it played out. The Steelers tried to move up to get Evans, could not get it done, and refused to draft an ILB'er just because. They think Edmunds can match up in the box on nickel and dime, cover the middle of the field. He is 217 lbs. and extremely gifted quick twitch. I think he will need to be because he could well be called on to beat blocks by TE's and G's, not WR's.

Yes, it's odd they brought in three players with similar skill sets at S - Burnett, Edmunds and Allen. Maybe they plan on rotating them through, but realistically, how many safeties do you have on the field. Plus they signed Nat Berhe who's specialty seems to be ST's..... gonna be interesting to see how it plays out. Can't hurt to have this much competition, will surely push Sean Davis as well.

Steelers only have 2 picks left in this draft because they don't have a 6th and they traded one of their 7s to move up for Rudolph.

That means a big decision with this next pick. Do they take another WR like St Brown? A Rb like Justin Jackson, or an ILB like Tegray Scales?

What about a G/C like Clapp from LSU?
