It's actually 3 rings for Blount.... It was early in the '14 season he and Bell did their rendition of Cheech and Chong, when he was cut and signed with the Pats* only to go on to win the SB over Seattle. '16 season was followed by SB win over Atlanta and then on to Phili in '17 with a SB win over the Pats*! So that POS has 3 rings.
I never saw this production coming, but I did know that you don't dump a Quality RB at the end of the season when you have an injury/suspension prone RB heading into the playoffs.
Tomlin and Colbert's worst move to date.
Bell wasn't know to be a suspension problem to this point... his 1st transgression was what led to Blount being cut and Bell's initial suspension, served at start of '15 season. Then he didn't make drug tests, leading to suspension served at start of '16 season. Then he had the balls to miss camp and hold off on signing Franchise tag to start '17 season, rather than recognize that while he was fully under contract, and being paid more than fairly for a player who, to that point missed the start of consecutive seasons due to suspension, and finished multiple seasons short, with injury, maybe, in good faith, he owed it to his team, teammates, and the paying fans to refrain from using the leverage normally afforded Franchise tagged players???
I say good riddance and wish there were some way to jettison him out now, with some degree of compensation? Maybe a deal with a team like the Colts, who's have a glaring weakness at RB, 3 second round picks and room under the cap??? Simultaneously work a deal with Colts for two 2nd round picks for Bell, while having him understand Colts are willing to extend him at numbers he's looking for, but he has to sign the Franchise tag to be traded. Steelers get 2 additional 2nd round picks, giving them options of moving up in 1st or moving back into 1st to get best combo of ILB, S and top 2-5 RB in draft. Bell goes to a team with top young QB and poor man's AB in Hilton, with minimum 8 games on fast track, but most importantly the money his greedy *** wants. Colts immediately have a top weapon to add to Luck/Hilton, giving similar dynamics "expected" of Steelers offense?
Win! Win! Win!
