When I heard he was mentioning that this was perhaps thin at the top. I immediately wondered with the position being one of the two biggest needs. If Colbert could be smoke screening. Or is he simply being honest. I initially pegged the Steelers as bringing in a free agent ILBer and hoping for a S too. My way of thinking hasn't changed, Although S seems more likely to be had in the draft. As some think the Steelers wouldn't bring in two starters in free agency, due to the cost of doing so.
Obviously free agency will put some of this conjecture to rest. But if they see the odds of landing an impactful inside linebacker in the draft as long. They could very well increase their efforts of sorting through the free agents, and targeting a particular one to bring in.
