Alex Smith Traded to Redskins

I heard on the radio that Cousins wants to go to Cleveland. Not sure why. They are still a couple years away from being anything providing they do very thing right the next couple years. But that is what I heard.

They have the cap space to overpay for him. Good luck with that. Maybe he will succeed in Cleveland, but I would look at my options more thoroughly if I were him.

With Cousins the factory of sadness wouldn't be winless again.

Has to be this. Biggest payday.

On paper, cleveland could be really good soon. They have a good OL and DL. If garrett is a stud pass rusher, the the defense could be good. Corey Coleman and Njoku are possible big play weapons and if the draft Barkley at RB, that’s some good talent.

But it’s cleveland so Garrett will probably get popped for PEDs, Coleman will be a pothead, and they will draft guys not name Barkley.

Josh Gordon looked good when he came back as well, though he's impossible to count on not being suspended.

The Browns were 0-16, but having a decent QB is half the battle of winning consistently in today's NFL.

Sign Cousins, draft Barkley and get full seasons from Garrett and Jamie Collins on defense and they'll be much improved

Deep down, I hope Mahomes just sucks epic ***.

I don't give a **** about the Skins or the Chiefs

ha ha

Smith admitted earlier on Tuesday in an interview with The Dan Patrick Show that he'd like to join a contender while scoffing at the notion of joining the Browns

Browns offered Chiefs one of their 2nd-round picks for Alex Smith

Browns will now set sights on Kirk Cousins

Everyone keeps blowing off the Browns when in reality in 1-3 years they should be pretty good and we will be sitting on our thumbs looking for a "FRANCHISE" QB that can bail out this coaching Cool Shades staff. There will not be another QB who has dominated a single franchise as much as Ben has dominated the factory of sadness. I hope I'm wrong and we continue drafting in the LATE part of the rounds.

The problem with that is they flooded their team with so many young players that by the time they break through, they may all be free agents

Case in point

Joe Thomas, 11 wasted years, when he was drafted Browns fans screamed he was the BEGINNING OF THE DYNASTY!

3-5mill per year difference can detour a lot of options...............

You said that 10 years ago!

ha ha

NO THEY WON'T

Sorry spike, Allthough it could have been said ten years ago I was not the one to say it and back then we had our franchise QB still playing for us. In 1-3years our STAR QB may be gone and we will be scrambling. I sincerely hope the factory of sadness continues on their current voyage and our STEELERS continue to dominate them. When you add in the fact of our sub coach Cool Shades' antics you can see my concerns.

I totally hear what you are saying but it isn't the fact that they rise up so high to meet our current program but the fact that we slide down to meet Their's near the midpoint. When Ben leaves, unless we get lucky and sign a FRANCHISE QB, we will degress and to how fast has yet to be seen. If Laundry Jones was full starter last season we would have ended up between 7-9 to 9-7. Regressed

let's say Cousins does go to the Broncos.

what would you offer Denver for Paxton Lynch? He's not proven anything at all, so his value could be very, very low. However, he's a big QB (6'7", 244) and is pretty agile.
I doubt the Broncos would want to keep him on the bench, considering guys like Von Miller are openly recruiting Cousins. That's just opening the door to some controversy and locker room bullshit.

Lynch could come in, learn from a proven QB and take over in a couple years.

I like it Supe. We were talking to him the year he was drafted.

Don't forget Foles. I wouldn't doubt the Browns look into him. Young, proves he can play and is looking for a starting gig. Will not break the bank like Cousins.

Suppose Foles has a good game and the Eagles win the super bowl. What's he worth then?

every dime of cap space the browns have.

PFT now says Chiefs getting a 3rd round pick and an un-named player. Skins giving Smith $94 Million for 4 years with 71 guaranteed.

Also reporting the Browns tried to trade for Smith, That would have been awful. Not because Smith is great but because it likely would have meant Browns taking Saquon Barkley at pick 1 and I pray that doesn't happen.

Sadly, I'm with ya tape. But I think the Browns draft Josh Allen 1st, and then take Barkley with #4.

Lynch has poor accuracy and is mentally fragile. No thanks

I didn’t even think Lynch was good in college. I don’t like his accuracy. He doesn’t read defenses at all and has to be taught from scratch. He couldn’t beat out Osweiler.

I’d rather take a flier on Hackenberg. He’s much further ahead in a pro offense and Jets would probably trade him for nothing. I just don’t think Lynch will ever be good, but Hack has a chance in a good system. It seems like Hack is in some kind of internal Jets power struggle between the coach and GM. It’s pretty strange how they have not played him at all, and even in preseason, they haven't given him much playing time. Lynch has had opportunities. Hack hasn’t.

how the hell is he mentally fragile? i'd never heard that.
he was injured in the 3rd preseason game. which would explain why the Broncos brought back Osweiler. you know, since they signed him on Sept 4.
but, I guess bringing in some retread who never was, and certainly wasnt **** in college, but is a Big 10 guy, is the way to go.

I wonder about some of you sometimes.
