Thought for sure someone would bring up Harrison today. Had to watch Steelers in a bar in Florida and seen nothing on the Pats or if Harrison played or did anything. No I really don't care what he does in Cheatville just if he even played today.

You must care if you asked the Q. ;-)

Yes he did. And I seen some of it via redone. He missed in coverage twice that I seen, had two sacks one with a strip. Obvious passing downs with a **** qb.

Didn't Harrison's new BFF Brady play the whole game?

Looks like he's fitting in.....

Harrison did play about half the game and his stats today were pretty impressive....

5 tackles, 2 sacks & 1FF

He's certainly not washed up!

Shame on Tomlin for letting Harrison rot on the sidelines this season!

Who should he have replaced ? Watt ? I don't think so.

Did we miss James this game ? Nope.

Did we miss James this season ? Nope.

Did we replace his productivity with youth and more athleticism ? I think so.

Nothing to debate here, IMO.

IMO Harrison was still our best perimeter pass rusher, definitely better than Dupree, Chick, and Moats and probably still a bit better than Watt, you have to find a way to use that guy, even if it is as a pass rusher only

Those stats do not show when he pulled into coverage and missed for big gains. Just saying.

The Steelers screwed James Harrison. You can't sit there and tell me Bud Durpree, Arthur Moats, Anthony Chikillo are more deserving of a helmet than James Harrison.

Look at the stat sheet today....Bud Durpree had the same number of tackles today as Jarvis Jones. A BIT FAT 0!

Harrison had 5 tackles today including 2 sacks and a forced fumble. That might actually be more than Bud Dupree has done since Thanksgiving!

That's pretty productive for a guy who sat and rotted on our bench for almost a full season!

You are fooling yourself if you think we didn't make a mistake not giving him the opportunity he certainly earned especially considering his play in the 2016 season including playoffs!

I think there is something to debate..

Obviously you had a all time great Steeler with more in the tank, that if used correctly can be a very valuable asset..Now the Pats have the a player thats going to add value to their lwoB repuS push..

Personally..I blame Joey Porter for the mishandling of the potential Hall of Famer and lwoB repuS champion..

Dupree has been disappointing, but over the majority of the season, he has covered the opponents TE, and we've done well vs TEs for the most part. Harrison can't do that, but as a pass rusher he's still pretty good and should've been used as one

Readers of this site know that Harrison wasn’t happy. And, apparently, he wasn’t afraid to let his teammates know he was unhappy with his situation going all the way back to Latrobe.

According to a source, Harrison refused to practice as early as training camp when the Steelers were dealing with some injuries at the linebacker position. At the time, Mike Tomlin said Harrison wasn’t practicing because the team had a plan for him. Harrison said he was just doing what he was told.

But Harrison was seeing the writing on the wall, even then. The Steelers inserted rookie T.J. Watt as their starter at outside linebacker, and the kid was making plays. People were raving about him, including the coaching staff.

Then, linebackers coach Joey Porter told me the Steelers planned to, “go with the young guys and use Harrison if needed.” He would be a relief pitcher. And relief pitchers don’t get into the game if the starter is being effective.

That wasn’t what Harrison wanted to hear.

Harrison apparently asked to be traded following the team’s first game of the season, when he played just four snaps despite Bud Dupree missing the game with a shoulder injury while Anthony Chickillo and Watt started and played most of the snaps.

Harrison had been acting like an *** and selfish since training camp..**** him!!! Im sure he wasnt the only back up who wants to play. Its a team game.

Tuned into the game late, saw him get a garbage time sack when the Jets QB ran around in the pocket for about 6 seconds, don't know about the rest of the game. From what I'm reading from people who saw the whole game he's still a big liability in coverage.

If James had took a leadership role and mentored Dupree and TJ, perhaps they would be so much better. The fact that he abstained and acted like a ***** is enough for me to agree with punting his *** to the bench. Be a man, be a leader. Be an example. James thought his gender and legacy was all it took. We know James was a great player. We also just learned he wasn't a great teammate --I could accept being distant and isolating himself if that's his personality (of a field goal kicker). But departing games early, using separate transportation away from the team and sleeping in meetings is inexcusable.

At age 50, James will be better than Bud and Chickillo. Bud is a little better Jarvis Jones, he’s a non factor. Chickillo is a special teamer, nothing more. James should have been a back up at the least and get half of bud’s snaps, I don’t care which side he plays on.

Harrison's a Patsie now.
Whatever he did in Foxborough had no impact on the Steelers/Browns.

Good for him for dialing in a good performance. But...time to move on

dupree missed some time, early on, he early showed his read and react early on vs poor esp watching the jags run where he was constantly over pursuing, he did get better as the year went on and with more polish he will be a better version of Haggans same size but faster someone you can rely on 6-8 sacks a year as he did play alot of coverage and showed when drooping he can at 6"6 270 not be liability. He should have a breakout year next year as watt will get more attention and the duo should form a Porter/Haggans type of Duo, we can only hope he can becomes a consistent rusher like K. Greene was off the weak side. and not be the LOLB that has 3 sacks and then dissipears for streches, as long as he helps in the run game and help others get coverage sacks and himself, he will do fine. He already has surpassed JJ career, remember he missed a good portion of last year, and in the past month Butler has chancged a lot of the D we have seen less 2-4-5 and as we saw teams just gash us on runs up thre A & B gap, that our primary secondary D is now the 3-2-6 with
Heyward Hargrave Tuitt Dupree Watt Gay Hilton Haden Burns Mitchell and Davis

we have guys who can get after the Qb what we didnt have is coverage. why is this so hard to understand. its not like we are talking about 2008 james who was sacking QBs left and right

Harrison is effectively a DE these days... our olbs are mostly in coverage... the whole issue with Harrison here was tge schemes passed him by... could he be used as a designated rusher? Sure but id rather have Watts versatility

So would everyone, but it's not an either or question, you can have both. How many 3rd and long did we have today, thats where you use a guy like him.

Exactly. We ended the regular season with 56 sacks, a team record. James Harrison wasn't missed.
