Are Gilbert and Tuitt ready for full practices?

Right team doctors and team trainers. Who runs the team Ike? Are you trying to tell me Tomlin can't declare anyone out for a game? Come on man.

If a guy is clearly OUT its an easy decision. But when he's questionable, its the coaches' decision. Its unwise to rush some injuries such as a hamstring back into action. Tomlin didn't do Dupree any favors either rushing him back, and I think he was a game too soon with Tuitt.

Reading comprehension. You sorely lack it.

Nowhere did I state in my post MT can't declare a player out of a game. If a player is on the injury report, the CBA has protocols that require the medical staff to determine if a player can participate in practices and/or games. The coaching staff relies on the medical staff to determine a player's availability. The HC can declare a player out due to anything (suspension, violation of team rules, conduct, etc.), but if the player is on the injury report, then the player has a health issue that impacts their ability to perform. The HC decision on player health is deferred to the medical staff. He can deactivate a player if deemed healthy by the medical staff, but he can't play him if he hasn't been cleared by the same medical staff.

Gilbert was removed from the injury report, therefore released by the medical staff. Since he was available, a starter, AND the fact Gilbert said himself he was good to go, why wouldn't you play him?

Oh, that's right, you are smarter than the medical professionals.

Dupree wasn't on the injury report either, his issue was pain, not structural with the shoulder or arm. Anyone who knows the game or has played it will tell you pain is part of the game. You have to have a high threshold, or you are in the wrong profession. His issue was probably deemed pain tolerance related. If he could handle the pain you let him try to play.

Tuitt, as explained, had a different injury. It was related to lifting weights incident during the week, not the original injury to his leg.

If you are going to place blame on someone, look into the mirror first. Read the facts before you post.

I fully agree with you antdrewjosh in the respects of information at your fingertips but I speak only for myself in saying that my time allotment for recreational entertainment is limited. I draw 95%+ of my STEELERS info from here, this site. So yes occasionally I speak out of my @ss as I'm not as informed as I could be. None the less I'm still an advid STEELERS fan. All that being said I do appreciate everyone's contribution in providing the information made available here on this site.ONE MORE THING...............I do watch our games in full, on Sunday's at a sports bar that I've been patronizing for more than 15+ years and treated as a king. I also watch the same game cut version usually twice durring the week I also have a coache's view of game which is kind of kewl but takes a LONG time to view so don't unless I notice a play and write down clock time then go into coach view and fast forward to that. In any event thanks to everyone, including "coach" for their perspective on our STEELERS .

No problem DIC. My issue comes with guys who speculate info as fact. When they can just find the info its out there.

I get what you are saying "antdrewjosh" and those who speculate with out fact get a reputation for that. Sometimes that's what makes the world go around................ There are some VERY well informed poster(s) here and believe me you know as well as I do that is a big draw to viewership here. I myself like all the variety and comrodary along with the humor....some of it twisted as it is. Have a great day today and share a smile along the way. Peace out

If Gilbert is not absolutely 100%, he sits, you can't **** around with hamstring injuries, the fact he came back for what 1 or 2 series vs KC was just stupid.

This

Don't even do that **** again, let them heal 100% - we have another bye week coming up

Save them for December

Seems reasonable enough. Makes perfect sense! I hate these off weeks! Too much idle time for idle thoughts. Come on Coach!
