Penn State vs Ohio State

Alabama has not really beat anyone good to this point. One loss should hurt them (unless its to GA), but probably won't. Don't get me wrong Alabama is a very strong team and probably #1, but based on this year they haven't been tested. Georgia has a win at ND and against misst. To this point they have a better pedigree than Ala.

If you had told me PSU scored 38 points at OSU i would have thought it was a PSU blowout. I did not think OSU had the offense for the PSU defense. PSU had given up 0 points in the first quarter till yesterday. To get steamrolled for over 500 yards is shocking. Barkley averaged getting touched .5 yards behind the LOS that is sad. I think PSUs only chance now is if OSU loses another game and PSU beats an undefeated Wisconsin team

Unfortunately OSU would have to lose twice for PSU to get into the championship game.

Our only hope is that enough other teams lose and the committee realizes PSU deserves it because their only loss wasn’t a bad one

The only scenario for Penn State is to blow out every team remaining and have OSU lose in the Big Ten Championship. But, that would leave Wisconsin probably ahead of them unless they get a loss between now and then. Wisconsin has a very easy schedule until the Championship game and could go undefeated. Still amazes me how the divisions in the Big Ten thought putting all of the powerhouses (Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan and Michigan State) in one division was a good thing.

Even if that happens in the Big Ten, I still doubt Penn State gets into the playoff. I wouldn't be surprised if they fell out of the top 10 after the one loss.

It is shocking but PSU did lose 2 starters on D in the first quarter (one in the middle of the D line) and a third starter in the 2nd or 3rd quarter. It's no excuse but losing 3 starters isn't easy against a good team.

idk if 56 was a starter.. but I watched him get pushed 7 yards downt the field. If he was the back up that could explain it.

I'd say it's a pretty good excuse. I know, in football especially, that teams don't like to make excuses, but putting in less talented players usually means bad things for your team.

Losing Bates was the biggest one. He’s our LT and best OL. Their line was swarming Saquon and Trace almost instantly after Bates went out.

I think though that OSU is the better team. We had the splash plays and good luck you need to beat good teams, but they had us in the trenches and their WRs and QB made plays. That’s how you beat PSU and they did it, weathered the storm. I hate those guys but they showed up and proved. They are great.

I think both teams deserve consideration for the playoff and it may play out that way eventually, as there’s plenty more football left to be played. But I doubt it

The OL and D injuries is what killed PSU IMO but the play calling at times was very suspect. I mean for the love of god that read option play with Barkley didn't gain a damn yard I think but they kept trying it over and over.... Trace missed a few crucial throws too. Still having said that OSU was still the better team and gave PSU every opportunity to blow the game wide open and they squandered it.

As much of a PSU fan as I am, I wouldn't be surprised if they lose to MSU next week. MSU DL will give them fits too.
