Mike Mitchell Has a Problem

Ben played like doo doo.

He has looked out of sorts this year. " like a statue " quoted by Slashsteel is not without warrant.

This all begins and ends with him. We know this. So if #7 cant or isn't or wont do the job. The team wont make it.

Looks like LF wanted to take him on. MM obliged and took him down. MM then tried to pump the Team up. The D was playing well at that point. I don't see the problem...but I'm not looking that hard to complain about something that had no bearing on the outcome.

I watched it several times, and it seems to me that Fournette did the taking down, when he he used his shoulder to plant Mitchell face-first into the turf and easily roll over the top for a couple more yards. MM then, inexplicably, got up and got in Fournette's face, after allowing a 12-yard gain on the Jaguars' seventh consecutive running play.

Did this ridiculous act of look-at-me bullshit have any bearing on the outcome? No, I suppose not. Was it embarrassing for some Steelers fans to watch? Indeed.

I'm sorry Guru but the only pumping up I saw there was Mitchell pumping up his own ego. On every level that play was a win win for the offense, so for the DB to celebrate a tackle after a successful play by the offense is a mystery only solved by speculation and I speculate Mitchelll thinks he is better than he really is.....jus sayin'.

he goes tro many big hits which are border line illegial, I rather see after see after the year Wilcox at FS and a young S drafted for depth, esp with Cash neaded to keep Bell and Bryant, Mitchell can be a smart cut for the cap.

Hes a ******** and can leave. Sick of this bullshit he does.x

Mitchell can be solid.

But the guy is a crucial penalty in the making.
I'm not a fan of his at all and would much prefer Wilcox.

luckily we didn't get the late hit penalty by No Play. Way to make no plays again this week for us...

I'd like better than yellow flag Mike, but I do not think Wilcox would do as well vs the pass.

He was pushed by chickillo.

Same old tired **** from most of the players on our team. They can rehearse there handshakes and dances and celebrations but can't play like a team for **** on both sides of the ball. It is what it is. It is a ME ME ME game now and the product is ****. Just look at all of the empty seats in the stadiums this past weekend. The NFL better figure it out soon. Maybe I'm just old but I really don't enjoy the games like I use to.

Agreed and the endless stream of commercials are nauseating.

I would say the Steelers have a problem. It is Mike Mitchell.

I'll give Mitch the benefit of the doubt. He's a hard hitter but I would hardly classify him as a dirty player. He definitely got pushed by Chickillo

It looked worse than it probably was, but that's on Mitchell and if someone kind of "fell into Roethlisberger's legs" like that, I'd be pretty pissed off.

We're not talking about it much, but I didn't like the hit by Dupree either. It was soft, but he definitely led with the crown of his helmet and launched upwards.

That sort of **** has to stop.

The Dupree hit. I seen as him trying to get up to stop the pass and then the QB pulled it down and he was up there hands and head and all. I didn't see it as malicious.

The Mitchell hit,, at first I thought he lost his mind.. I was pissed. But the replay shows chick shoving him in the back. Oddly the PFF show with floria was showing the clip and everything and they STILL were blaming Mitchell and calling it a cheap shot.

I think Mitchell has done stupid borderline dirty things so much, he's lost the benefit of the doubt.

This looks pretty unintentional, reminded me of the kimo hit on Palmer

Yeah I'm baffled by everyone saying he's not dirty. He takes a cheap shot almost every game.

Also noting it appears Mitchell's might have tripped as well on the play. Two different factors contributing on that play............

Hard too say. Looks like chick just put his hand on mitchells back. He has been flagged for a lot of fouls so hard to believe him.

I like Mitchell. I’m one of the few here I guess. He’s a good fit to this defense, probably their best centerfielder as far as what they have at safety. Wilcox just doesn’t have his speed. Mitchell is a big emotional player. I appreciate that. He also does make some boneheaded plays out of his emotion. They should start looking at his position in the draft or free agency next year.
