Steelers losing 20-9 with 10 min to go in the 4th. Fournette runs the ball 11 yards for a 1st down with the ball at midfield. As he's running he actually motions to Mitchell to hit him and Mitchell gets up celebrating like he just caused a game winning turnover. Why is this tolerated??

Seriously STFU and try stopping a guy from actually getting a first down for once.

It's tolerated because the Head Coach, GM, President, Owner...etc ALLOW it. If they had an issue with it I am certain it would go away.

I posted this in the game thread. Artie Burns did the same thing. Steelers aren't a very alert team from the head coach on down.

the guy might have brain damage to celebrate that ****

Their football awareness is sorely lacking right now. The two challenges were terrible and "I lit you up. Oh, you got the first down." hits were embarrassing.

Well he did make the tackle.

Pretty sure he was trying to fire up his teammates, mostl of which played like ****

I'm aware most have been in the game long enough to know better. It's an old show I've seen too many times. They need new material. The same song and dance is played out.

Mitchell's problem is he isn't all that good, although he's cut down on the penalties, but he celebrates after he tackles people for a first down.

Same old tired **** from most of the players on our team. They can rehearse there handshakes and dances and celebrations but can't play like a team for **** on both sides of the ball. It is what it is. It is a ME ME ME game now and the product is ****. Just look at all of the empty seats in the stadiums this past weekend. The NFL better figure it out soon. Maybe I'm just old but I really don't enjoy the games like I use to.

He's a poor mans Ryan Clark, at least Clark could usually make the play when needed.

It appeared that he was mad or trying to fire up his team. He was looking at the sidelines when he was yelling.

In a decade of embarrassing defeats yesterday was right up there. Not just the opponent and outcome but the celebrations of nothing. And yes Mitchell and Burns were right up there.

Yeah after he got right up in Fournette's face to "taunt" him or whatever he was trying to do.

Mike Mitchell is a pretty embarassing player. I must have seen Troy come up and make a stick short of the first down on third a hundred times and he never did that.

I don't dance everyday when I show up at the office for work. Some things you're just expected to do.
Well maybe you should. By the way my post was sarcasm. :)

Looks like LF wanted to take him on. MM obliged and took him down. MM then tried to pump the Team up. The D was playing well at that point. I don't see the problem...but I'm not looking that hard to complain about something that had no bearing on the outcome.

I agree with you if it was a sack, a nice tackle in the backfield or hell even a great pass deflection but after a guy just gained a first down and you are losing by 2 scores in the 4th? Give me a break.

He "pumped" the defense up so much they gave up 10 more points in the final 10 minutes.

It's that me first attitude that has been the downfall of this team so while it may not have directly impacted this game, it's impacted the last 5-6 years of underachieving.

I'm done with 'no play' Mitchell. I thought he used to try too hard to do too much, when the D was in flux. The we started getting talent, and he's still running around with his head cut off, not making plays. He has terrible vision, awareness, speed, and gets bowled over like a duckpin. All he does is cheerlead after getting knocked back 4 yards on a tackle, and destroy defenseless receivers.

There is no excuse for him to be so deep when he's in zone with this pass rush. He should be reading and recognizing game situation plays instead of watching QBs hit the seam on 3rd and 17s. D looked better with JJ than no play. I don't hate him as much as I hated Blake, but he's gaining ground fast!
